If you have a mobile phone with a camera, take a quick picture of the SEL before you go to CS then at least you have the proof.

I would not really recommend that.

That is admiting you know that you will be over charged before you buy it, which isnt what r+r is about you know what you will be charged so you cant really complain when you are charged it.

I know we all know we will be over charged but the policy isnt for that

I have today had my first RnR on Finest Rump in Tescos in Wokingham and was shocked that no questions were asked and my refund was just given to me. Thank you to all posts I had no idea this happened.. can some one please confirm what RnR stands for.

If you go to the first page of this forum it tells you the answer......it says

the Tesco policy on signs instore is :-

"And if things don't add up ~ In the unlikely event you are charged a higher price than on the shelf or the product we will refund your money and you can keep the product"

Theres usually a big blue notice in the customer service area displaying this and other Terms and Conditions.....

So to answer you question, RnR means "refund and retain"......they refund you your money....you retain the goods.

I got my first RnR tonight as well.....off the cheese counter

    Maryland Vintage Cheddar...Priced at £6.79 a kilo...offer sign £4.99

    Finest Vintage Cheddar...Priced at £8.79 a kilo.....offer sign....£6.23

Refunded £10 with lots of apologies. Lovely cheese!!

I got a rollocking in Slough for doing this. They have a chip on their shoulder in there about R+R anyway (see previous posts)

I found the DVD 105 model in a store with two different shelf edge label prices and although I wasn't able to scan it (there wasn't one in this store), I'm wondering what the situation is had it scanned at the higher price.

    Anyone any ideas?

Markus and I had this problem with a freeview box at Hayes store. They wouldn't honour R+R as the correct price was on display. Head Office agreed with us but wouldn't override store. Also accusations from staff about the lower SEL got there in the first place. Scummers

You say you would not recommend a customer taking a picture of the SEL price prior to going to the CS desk. Then might you suggest, how does one prove Tesco are lying. Maybe you would rather the truth not be available to the customer. What a sorry state of affairs.

Quitre clearly Tesco will go to any lengths to stop the truth coming out.

The last time you and I "debated" 2 pages got deleted and the thread got locked. The reason has already been mentioned between the post of mine you quote and your post.

I would not recommend anyone taking pictures in any store without prior consent, at the simplest level because they are private property.
