I would not recommend anyone taking pictures in any store without prior consent, at the simplest level because they are private property.

Robert5686 wrote:You say you would not recommend a customer taking a picture of the SEL price prior to going to the CS desk. Then might you suggest, how does one prove Tesco are lying. Maybe you would rather the truth not be available to the customer. What a sorry state of affairs.
Quitre clearly Tesco will go to any lengths to stop the truth coming out.
Constantine says my Question has been answered.
My above above post has definitely not been answered/addressed.
Though It might well have been "skirted round/discussed" by someone who is avoiding the real point.0 -
Well just been into my local store. Walking down the meat aisle. I could not find one thing correctly priced. Not one thing! All the pastic pre-packed meat was more expensive than the SEL. Even the chickens at £2.99 had SELS on £2.49. I could have had anything.
But you know what?
I actually got angry. Not angry because they were overcharging people.
Not angry because I could fill the trolley and wait 30 mins while they check the prices.
Not angry because shareholders would get miffed.
I actually got angry because of the sheer incompetance of the staff involved.
If I got my job so badly wrong I would be out on my ear.
I approached the CS desk and asked to speak to the manager. After a few questions about why, and what department, I eventually got the suit wearing manager.
I asked him to follow me and I took him to the meat aisle without saying a word I would pick up a piece of meat, point to the price per KG and then point to the (cheaper SEL). After 2 or 3 of these, I said "Pick anything. At Random, its all priced wrong, and in Tescos favour, not mine"
He looked at a few other things and I could see his face crumple up a bit. He apologised and asked to accompany me back to Customer Service.
At which point I explained that I was against the clock to pick the kids up and left. As I walked past the meat aisle I could see about 6 staff working the shelves.
I may have spoiled it for other MSEs in my Tesco, but I think I hit my "R&R" wall and just got angry.

Agreed, Tesco policy is clear in that you must seek authorisation form the stor e management team before you take any photographs within their store. To be able under all circumstances to practice five things constitutes perfect virtue; these five things are gravity, generosity of soul, sincerity, earnestness and kindness.0 -

Tesco are not hiding anything, can you not clearly see there are human errors going on, quick planogram / display changes happening, staff being pulled off chiller walls and sent ot help the cash desks. In an operation as large as most of these stores sometime they get it wrong.
You should focus helping others get a bargin rather than trying to hit major companies and win points of other forum memners in my opinion
We are all here for a bargin after all.... ?To be able under all circumstances to practice five things constitutes perfect virtue; these five things are gravity, generosity of soul, sincerity, earnestness and kindness.0 -
I think the only thing that Tesco are hiding and the moment is the extravagant rise in fresh meat prices and they are too afraid to show it for real on the SEL's. Some meat has risen by over £1 a kilo! And as for making excuses about staff being too busy or 'confused' about displays. Ive had 3 lots of RNR for meat from the same shop, they know the prices are wrong and yet they are STILL wrong today even though they say "right we'll get these prices changed right away". I just think they aren't bothered because there are more customers out there who will pay for the goods without a quibble over the rights and wrongs of correctly displayed prices and so they carry on milking these people. I think next time I'm instore, and if the prices are wrong still ,I will contact the TS immediately and let them know. :mad:DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

In Tesco Extra this morning, I noticed that one of the SEL's had been removed beneath one of the GPS units (sorry I can't remember which one it was - it wasn't either of the TomToms though).
There was plenty of stock there, just no sel - only the two sticky pads where it'd been.
Could be a possible pricing error that someone else got & didn't report here...
Worth a look perhaps..

I don't think its that complicated! I think its simply that they are poor at communications!

Really?? I've been in a number of different Tesco and have never seen any policy on display that states you cannot take photo's. Can't see anything on the web-site either.0 -
I don't think taking photo's should be an issue and don't understand why Tesco have an issue with people doing it.
The policy is there in plain sight. I've not had the chance to find an R&R yet but I know damn well how I'll play it.
I'll show them the receipt, show them the SEL (or photo if they've changed it) and point them at the policy on the wall (usually round by the kiosk area's). There can be no arguments ... it's a very plain and simple statement with no small print around it or anything saying 'subject to conditions'. It's stated as a fact, plain and simple.
Remember why that statement's up there. It's not only to keep customers who might feel hard done by, it's a kick in the short and curlies for those stores and their managers that can't get their act together. Hit's their bottom line and hits their results to HO.
Have fun and good lcuk people!!Life's too short to grow up ... :j0
