Leicester Tescos has at least 5 Mobiles ranging from 90-150 quid all with white SELS and scanning at SEL. All other ones have 10% off .Does anyone think I can take them to the cleaners?

It sounds good to me,it would be worthwhile checking the promo leaflets as well, if the white sel ones you mention are priced under in the leaflets you are onto a cast iron winner.Mind you i would get in there pronto as these walls have ears,of a "every little helps" kind.lol.

I was just wondering what everyone thinks about these mobiles where there is a white SEL instead of a yellow one showing the 10% off. There are a couple of these in my Tesco but I have not tried to R&R yet as I am not sure what to say if they insist that the 10% is already taken off. Anyone got any advice on how to approach these as I would love to get a razr for my od.

    Cheers

So if the SEL is white and it scans at SEL, then is that an automatic R&R?

    Well.
That's the David Bowie CD sorted. Wasn't a DVD so took some time to find. They were all priced at £12.97 except one left stickered at £8.97. Bit of a discussion with the CS supervisor who wouldn't R&R (only refund) but a quick chat with the store Manager confirmed this was an "old offer" (yeah, right) and so I got a R&R. About 15 minutes in all so one - nil to me!!
Nokia SELs seem to have been fixed at Prescot, nr Liverpool.

How do you guys spot an incorrect SEL thus an overcharge? Do you scan as you walk around or do you have your own scanners? Newcomer who's now one David Bowie CD better off! Thanks for the tip

I work as a homecare for the elderly, and 2 days a week i do shopping.

Well tesco is our nearest supermarket.

And as i can only do 1 clients shopping at a time, i can sometimes be visiting the shops at least 4 times a day.

Sometimes the shopping is only for about £8 worth of shopping so i usually use self scan.

My only perk from doing this is that i scan my clubcard when shopping for my old ladies or men.

Well last week hubby was away for the days when i was doing shopping and he had took my keys with him. he left his for me to use.

But my clubcard is on my keyring.

So last week i saved my receipts from my olides shopping.

today i went in and i took my receipts to customer services for them to add the points on.

The grumpy customer services lady looked at the receipts then stared at me. She then came out with the comment.

'some of these receipts are from the same day, have you REALLY shopped here a couple of times a day?'

To which i replied 'yes' i am a homecare, i had my uniform on.

'This is my 1st visit to the store today but i will be back at least 3 more times, should you care to monitor my visits'

She then put the points on my card.

i visited the store 3 more times that day and i decided that each time i would make sure i visited customer services and get points added manually. so that she knew that i wasn't lying.

I think that she got the message.

But even better today when packing one of my bags i found a receipt for just over £100 in shopping, i didn't ask her to add these. but i have put the receipt in my purse until someone different is one.

Do you think that she got my message?

Last night we were refused an R&R on some meat, because it was now company policy that if it is a weighed product, it doesn't matter if the price per Kg on the product is different to that advertised on the shelf, because the pack price is what you look at and that's what you are charged, so hence you have not been overcharged.

I have had this problem in another Tesco store in my area, and after reporting them to trading standards, TS reported back they had told Tescos not to run this policy as it is misleading (although they still do it). However, they're now saying its been extended to other stores now on Head Office instructions. Has anyone else had this or was the manager talking rubbish?

Incidentally, we shall overlook the fact the product I was querying was not weighed - it was chicken mini fillets and they are £2.38 on the SEL - per product, not per Kg, but we were charged £2.97! Straight overcharge.

And they did do an R&R on a wrongly stickered CD without a quibble, so its not like they try to get out of them on prinicple...

Anyone had this problem with price per kg products?

re the 10% off mobile phones, my reading of it is that this applies to PAYG phones only. So perhaps the ones with the white SELs are not PAYG? Anyone else like to comment?

No - I've seen the Nokia 6020 - or is it 6060 - with a SEL without the 10% discount - and its PAYG.

Given my un-Dudish recent problems with Tesco I'm sticking to less contentous prices at present.

But - go for it Dude!!
