Don't worry about it! You are doing nothing wrong but merely exploiting a policy that senior management created to find out which stores have the poorest price controls! When I was in Bristol on a training course I used to walk up to the CS lady and she'd say with a wry smile "what have you got this time?". As an example I got "Coke" three nights in a row in that store (16x24 cans)! You'll be recognised before long but so what!

So what?. You may even be lucky enough to get banned as well like me. Still, I get my own back in other ways ;)

Every little helps as they say.

    It's sort of on-topic.

A few years ago I ran a CV consultancy business - I advertised in local press and charged about £35-£50 for a top notch CV - most of my custom was via word of month.

I always gave a client a draft of their CV to inspect at a meeting - I would never ever let the client keep the draft - I would simply absorb their comments - make any changes and reconvene for the final inspection and the exchnage of CV and monies.

Never had a problem - until I dealt with a Deputy Manager at a Tesco branch.

He seemed like a nice guy - how wrong I was - I broke my cardinal rule and allowed him to keep the draft for 24 hours.

When I met him he told me that he destroyed the doucment - he didn't like it - and refused to pay - at our first meeting he was impressed with the CV.

The Dude was most unhappy - I have no doubt that he kept the CV - blowing my own trumpet but I was very good at my job.

When I found out about R&R the chance of sweet revenege.....long may it continue!!

I did not think you could do such a thing Dude. I guess you must have been well and truly shaken up in the last 10 days.

  • Hello People

Please bear with me as I am new to this. I read these threads daily and I shop at Tesco weekly, or rather if I don't get off my backside when the stores are packed at the weekend, I order online.

This R&R stuff. Retain and refund right? So, let me get this straight (please help me out) say your shopping around tesco and you see the shelf labels/prices for goods be it pop/meat whatever, well how do work it out. Do you folk keep a shopping list of items and write the shelf price next to it and then only find out the price difference at the till? And when they say 'refund and retain' is this indeed what they do, just refund you the money you had paid for it and retain it, if so whats the point of this? Sorry if I'm coming across a bit thick but can someone please explain to me in laymans terms.

Incidently, I do (more often that not) get my shopping home delivered and the number of times they have goosed this up in one way or another is unbelieveable. In my last order I ordered: a whole chicken, some diced lamb, some mini chicken fillets, some prepared salad, a couple of BOGOF's on Lynx body wash stuff and Dove Shampoo and conditioner.

When I recieved the order: each and every meat & poultry product's use by date was to be used that day, the salad had more going mouldy brown leaves than green leaves (to be eaten on day of purchase...Yum(!)), they didn't have the 'Boost' flavour of Lynx stuff, so supplemented for two other scents and charged me separately for both of them instead of BOGOF, and same for the Dove shampoo and sep conditioner.

Anyway, first time I have rang up and complained. Customer services chap on the phone went throught the items with me and promptly told me that they will refunded me for all products mentioned. And guess what, they did. Checked my statement on line and they have made a credit. So I was quite pleased with that however was unhappy with the dodgy meat over BH wkend so had to go out again.

Does this R&R include pricing on home deliveries? Hmmm now one is thinking...I wouldn't know the diff anyhow if I cannot see the SEL? Is that correct? Please help, your words of wisdom would be most helpful. Incidently I live in Coventry and we have 3 Tescos close by, one of them a massive Extra by the Ricoh Arena. Thanks again folks. I hope I've not done your heads in!!!

R & R does not apply to dot com orders.

R & R (when you can get it) means that you get the money back and YOU retain the product not tesco.

Others will supply you with infor as to how to spot the R&R's.....not something i can do i am afraid.

For your information, the .com picking system has recently (within the last two weeks) changed instores to help to reduce the short date coded / poor quality fresh food items problems. It wont stop the problems altogether as what is acceptable to one person is completely unacceptable to another however it will go some way to helping.

And just to add to this good advice - any problems with on-line shopping a quick e-mail to the on-line CS Dudes - quoting your order number - will usually result in a refund for any goods you are not happy with.

Leicester Tescos has at least 5 Mobiles ranging from 90-150 quid all with white SELS and scanning at SEL. All other ones have 10% off .Does anyone think I can take them to the cleaners?
