Why dont you quote my whole post instead of choosing to put inverted commas around only what you wish to. Perhaps theres a floor in your argument/discussion?

Knock it on the head Dude - your posts aren't helpful and get in the way of the genuine Tesco Misprice debate & helpful community that we have here.

But if you want to contribute in a constructive manner and stay on topic then stick around.

Merely drawing to that guys attention how heavy handed his company is towards its customers and how Tesco get away with it. I've seen genuine people on here be done by the CS who should know better. Thats why I said the sign should not be behind them but in front of them, but then that wouldnt make any difference either if they still refused to read it.
I think theres another sign there in front of them telling them to only offer the difference or maybe its recorded there in their heads.

I need a little help with this one.
Half price at 3.49 for 6x1.25 ltr bottles

Found the sel stating 0.5p per 100ml (presume should state 5p per 100ml)

Is this a r&r if bought??

If so what should i say to get a result.
    thanks

It is clearly a misprice as you are not receiving them at the advertised price of 0.5p per 100ml that said I think you will find it difficult to obtain r&r as customer services are going to play dumb on this one and insist you are paying the advertised price of £3.49 per case, just think of this along the lines of the meat misprices if you want to stand your ground, the meat is advertised on sel at one price per kilo and the pack at a higher price and most cs's will concede this as a misprice when pushed and HO certainly accept as a misprice, the art is going to be identifying the the connection between the two in order to get them to accept it, but as you will see in the vast majority of cases cs's will deny any knowledge of r&r in the first place and then proceed to give you reasons why your particular case is not covered, I think you will find that they will in general either play extremely dumb (not difficult in most cases) or very quickly become hostile.

If you go for it please come back and let us know how you got on and certainly refer to HO if they stonewall you pointing out meat misprices as an example and asking them to identify clearly why they feel it is different.

Then trot off to TS if they don't come up with the goods for you.

But please Mr. Tesco employee.....tell me what these good deals are and would I have to go to the CS desk because of mispricing?

Side splitting. At least this thread went on a bit longer than the last one before degenerating.

Tesco is (I believe) the largest private sector employer in the country. Its a fairly safe bet that at least some of those hundreds of thousands share some of the views of other posters on this site. If you genuinley do not believe that having Tesco employees contributing here adds any kind of value to the topic, I suggest you petition Martin to get anyone working for Tesco rfemoved from the site.

Guess I took the bait a bit :o

Zorber/Ben500 - I do not know the answer to that as it is something that very rarely happens. However, my opinion would be that it is not a miss price as the price per ml is for guide/comparison and you are charged the correct price (3.49). The situation on meat is different as the items are individually priced. To word it an other way - you are buying the meat based on the SEL kg price, but you are buying the Coke based on the (correct) SEL price not the ml price.

As the person who is responsible for this type of thing instore i can confirm that constantine is 100% correct. The unit pricing is a guide price only and not an advertised selling price.

Guide price or advertised price it matters not the question is, is it misleading? the answer yes, should I expect to pay 0.05p per 100ml for my product of course I should because Tesco have made that impression upon me by displaying the sel. There are several purposes for r&r to highlight an error and give opportunity to rectify it, to restore faith to the customer, but the most important from Mr T's point of view is to avoid prosecution under trading legislation, the given example is justifiable of all of the above criteria.

It is common practice in all work places to interpret the company line to suit the situation at hand and frequently to the cost of the customer to deliberately do so and this is another demonstration of Tesco leading the way.

Whilst I have been here and read posts from both of the employees above and have witnessed the help and advice given that doesn't alter the fact that they are wrong and have clearly come to their conclusion without consulting those that actually do make the decisions on issues of this nature, and this is reflective of customer service staff up and down the country as has been demonstrated on a daily basis since this thread was started.

If I am deciding whether to buy cans or bottles I look at the unit price to see which is the best value per 100ml so this sort of mistake would be very misleading.

Yes, misleading to the extent that you purchased what you thought to be the best value item. This is not only misleading but down right deceit on Tescos part. Needless to say they will wriggle out of it.

I think this is a tenuous mis-price at best - and one that you won't get without a lot of hassle.

If you think about meat - you see the price per kg on the SEL - and you see the price on the packet - 2 different labels = a mis-price.

The unit price on drinks - I agree that any mis-print of the pennies per 100ml is misleading - but - and it's a big but....

....as a shopper you would have to have worked out that this was a 'misprice' when you are stood looking at the SEL - it's similar to the arguements offered when using the self-scan/scary rolling conveyorbelt system - knowingly paying over the odds and then claiming R&R.

    Perhaps comparing hypothetical CS conversations:-

    Scenario 1 - The Meat

"Hello - I purchased half a leg of kangaroo - the shelf said it was £10.49 a KG, which I thought was reasonable - but I've checked the label on the pack and it is priced at £10.99 KG".

    CS - "Here's a refund - you're banned!"

    Scenario 2 - The Drinks

"Hello - I purchased 4 cans of Stella - the shelf said it was the equivalent of 50p per 100ml - reassuringly expensive - but as I was walking out the store I happened to multiply the number of cans against the total ml per can and divide this by 100 and to my shock realised that it should be the equivalent of 60p per 100 ml".

CS response "Pardon? Say again? You're banned anyway".
