Cats and dog all vetted up. One mog has a heart murmur and the other an interesting dermatological condtion (bald ears). They're both 16, happy and mental, so we'll just keep an eye on them. So that's £263 well spent
Builder coming to start knocking thro hall wall on Tuesday so packing up stuff to move from A to B and back again when they start knocking B about.
Also decided that OU has to go. Just don't have enough time to do it justice and do the travelling new job requires. Need the cash so will pick up studies agin when I get a less demanding role or take some time out.
Out of country 3 days this week and next so trying to get washing up to date before I head off.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Building's coming on slowly but surely. More money required by Monday so will have to track down a local HBOS on Monday.
Grandad winding me up. He asked how much I owed the builders and I mentioned the 2 grand for Monday. He told me I'm too casual about such sums. I should be terrified. Took everything to suck up I'm doing this for you, it is terrifying, oh and I've still got around £70,000 to find.

Huge tesco shop just come and all put away somewhere but looks like we're planning for the seige.
I'm about to fall out completely with the builders over door handles. Fuss and nonsense over nothing and very frustrating.
Weather is awful and it's dark so weekend over.
Well that's my moaning over sorry all. Somehow feels better just getting the rant out.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Hi Kissjen,
Don't think Ive actually posted on your diary before so here goes. Have found it very interesting and inspiring and I will admit to having two properties which we rent out. Have just had a nightmare Christmas and New Year putting a cottage back to how it was before last tenants did their worst. I totally know what you mean about the getting down and cleaning filthy loos etc yuck!
I have a son too who is on verge of manhood. He spends his pocket money on Lynx deodorant at the moment when he doesn't actually have activated man sweat glands yet!!
He is entertaining though!
Glad you are feeling better and soldiering on...:T0 -

understand re OU - glad you are streamlining a bit rather than over-pushing yourself even more than normal :T

Lots of bubble baths is my remedy to most situations. Obviously coupled with loud music to drown ones sorrows in. Not drown in the bath. That won't help anyone.
I am sure Vets are con-artists with their, oh lets test for this that and the other because, you know, those anal glands that needed squeezing could also be related to the ever so slightly watery eye. Vet doesnt thing for a minute that the poor mutt/mogs eyes are bound to water if you'd just squeezed the life and soul out of its butt bits!** Proud to be dealing with my debts **LBM - Jan 2009 _pale_ : £24,802.21 :eek:February 2010 :silenced: : £18,078.47 (not including OD)July 2010= £16,819.34 (not including OD)

Hello all. Sorry about the absence.
I've been playing with nice people in Europe and doing silly hours.
House is now covered in stoor, you can draw on every surface. The kitchen will be ripped out next weekend. The downstairs cloakroom flooded and has also been completely ripped out. Extension floor is down and timber frame will go up next month. Kitchen nook for Grandad is built.
Did spreadsheet this morning. So far spent £20k. Another £45k estimated. Bills of £2.5k due now. Plus painters, flooring, furniture etc. So £80k total looking like ceiling price for everything.
Bona vacancia money arrived from Treasury this week together with a cheque from ex accountants so that's almost £9k for the fund. There's another £7k in the pot at the moment and I haven't touched my wages yet. So keeping head above water there.
Shop is a money pit. Going there this afternoon to try and restart activity.
Flats are perennial pain but overall they're in a wee bit of profit this year.
Contract is very hard work. Averaging 50 hours a week so Mon - Fri write off for all other activity. No idea how long it will last so keeping head down and going for it.
I hope things are going well for everybody else. I'll try and keep more up to date.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
