That's a bummer. I was thinking myself your account seems to be in a more healthy state than mine. Must admit i was suprised to get the Aqua card. Even more suprised at the high (for me) credit limit . Really don't know how these things are worked out.

They guys on here are pretty clued-up on these things. Maybe they can suggest a different approach you can take?

When i fell behind on payments, Barclaycard handed my account to a DCA for about 2 years. Because i kept up payments with the DCA for that period, i got a call out of the blue from Barclaycard saying they were taking me back as a customer. Was pretty please about that i can tell you :T.

Since then things have been a little up and down, but i'm making the effort to keep things on track now that i've turned over a new leaf :A.

To be honest im very happy with my finances now. After having such big debts and now being debt free its just so much easier now that all my money is mine. When it goes into my account now I have been used to nearly half of my income going towards paying off debts and now that it isnt im laughing really. Even managing to do some serious saving.

Wow Barclaycard did that. I have considered contacting MBNA to see if they would give me a card. I disposed of my card with them when I went on the DMP. But the account never defaulted and I never missed a payment to them. Its now clear on my credit report and its still open. Would it be cheeky to ask them ;p

Well had lots of good advice off NID. I have used some of his ideas to write to Cahoot about the note. I am comfident of them removing it, but I just think it might take some time. I will just keep emailing them till they do it though. I think they know that I am going to be persistant now.

Still nothing in post from any of the credit card companies :(

Parki, what Cap1 card did you apply for? If it's the Classic then I think everyone gets the same APR at 34.9%? May be wrong though!

Yeah it was the classic so I would be expecting that. I will be paying it off each month anyway as I dont need any credit at the moment so I dont mind.

Yeah nothing through the post for me either. Come on Capital One get that card in the post! And Vanquis hurry up and ring me its good to talk :)

I don't need the credit either, unless it was a very low APR, which isn't going to happen at the moment - just want some more green 0's to help my credit file :rotfl:

Does anyone know what the next increase from £500 limit is? If I pay off in full for 3 months. Or does this hugely vary?

:T Cool you're actually debt-free. What's it feel like? :rotfl:. Being debt-free is just a dim and distant memory for me .

Glad you've got some good advice re Cahoot. You're right, i'm certain they'll remove the DMP note. Big companies move so slowly sometimes, it can be frustrating but you'll get there :T.

:rotfl: With MBNA maybe you could wait till your defaults drop off before approaching them with your lovely, fragrant, shiny and clean credit file :T. They'll be throwing cards at you :T :D.

I recently applyed for a CAP ONE card and it wasnt declined but not accepted at that they had to do further checks.

They will probably send you a letter requesting verification of id, eg bank statement or utility bill with your address on it, and copy of passport. This is often triggered by not being on the electoral roll. That's what happened to me. HTH.
