My first payment was 2 days late, do you think that will stop them upping my limit
on the fourth statement??
Just look what happened to me, I mentioned it about 10 posts up from this one. Good Luck.0 -

I was surprised when Aqua accepted me, though I didn't think Cap1 would either, hence me ending up with all 3! :rotfl:
Well im still waiting for Vanquis to make their mind up. Phoned them up today and they havent accepted or declined me but its been 7 days now so they are taking their time.
Capital One I got a £1000 limit but I dont know what the APR is. Still waiting for my card but she has said it should be here by the 17th.
I got turned down by Aqua boo hooo!0 -
Hope you don't mind me joining in .
Cap1 - Applied early March 2009. Got an acceptance letter dated 10/03/09. Spoke to customer service on 20/03/09 as card not received. They assured me i'd receive it by the 31st of the month. Think i got it on or a few days after 31/03/09. Pin number was received around 21/03/09. Starting credit £200.
Vanquis - Applied early March 2009. Kept missing Vanquis calls when they wanted to do telephone check, so this delayed things. They even sent a text message asking me to call them back. Eventually spoke to them on 26/03/09. Got £250 limit. Received pin number, letter dated 07/04/09. Think the card arrived within a week of getting pin.
Aqua - Applied early April 2009. Letter dated 11/04/09 requesting additional info received. Signed cca dated 16/04/09. Received card 06/05/09. Think pin came before this date. Starting limit of £500.
Applied online for all cards.
It took a while to receive these cards , but those lovely, healthy green 'o's are starting to show on my credit reports.
Edit: Well done with the Cap1 credit Parki :T. Reminds me of happier times when credit card companies trusted me with their money. I didn't even know what 'sub-prime' was back then :rotfl:.
Good luck guys .0 -

The more the merrier and congratulations on the 3 out of 3. May I ask if you had any negative info on your credit report? Any defaults?0 -

Thanks Parki.
Of course you can ask. I've 2 defaults. I'm paying off the debts, but the defaults themselves should drop off my credit file in June and August 2010 :j.
I've also about 11 late payments (spread over 5 accounts) for the last 12 months. For the last 5 months however, everything has been paid on time. I intend to keep it that way too .
I've 6-7 searches for the last 12 months on Experian and Equifax. But i only have 1 search on CallCredit .
How's it with you?0 -

Well when did you apply for your Barclaycard? Which card is it?
I have 2 defaults and they expire in Feb and May of next year. I got turned down by aqua but I am thinking this may be due to the DMP note on one of my accounts even though im not on it anymore as other people with defaults seem to have been accepted.
I got accepted for Cap one and waiting on vanquis.
I dont have any late payments for the last 12 months. 3 Searches in last year and they are for the 3 cards mentioned.0 -

Have had the Barclaycard for about 6 years. Had it before everything went t*ts-up, finance-wise.
You did well with your Cap1 app, so i imagine Vanquis should be a piece of cake. Hmmm, would be good if you could get the Aqua card. Can the DMP note be removed, if you request it?0 -

Well no chance with Aqua it was a complete decline. I might appeal just incase it was just the note that was putting them off but it could be lots of reasons. My credit file does not seem to be as bad as other people who have been accepted though.
I have requested it quite a few times, they have said in the past that they would remove it. They just dont seem to do it. I am running out of patience but there doesnt seem to be a lot I can do about it. I have emailed them again about it but no reply as of yet
How did you manage to keep your barclaycard account going after struggling financially>?0 -

That's a bummer. I was thinking myself your account seems to be in a more healthy state than mine. Must admit i was suprised to get the Aqua card. Even more suprised at the high (for me) credit limit. Really don't know how these things are worked out.
They guys on here are pretty clued-up on these things. Maybe they can suggest a different approach you can take?
When i fell behind on payments, Barclaycard handed my account to a DCA for about 2 years. Because i kept up payments with the DCA for that period, i got a call out of the blue from Barclaycard saying they were taking me back as a customer. Was pretty please about that i can tell you :T.
Since then things have been a little up and down, but i'm making the effort to keep things on track now that i've turned over a new leaf :A.0
