That letter sounds good.
It may be that the letters hae just overcrossed each other - most of those letters are sent automatically, but its good to chase it up.
At least you know that your letter has been read though!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

RBOS.. a reply to my first letter.
Quite polite.. not nasty or scary.. just saying 'Thankyou for your Financial statement (SOA).. Before your offer of payment is consider.. ( I'm setting up a standing order, so you WILL get it whether you 'accept' it or not).. A default notice will be issued.. (what? already? YAY :T) ... This will be followed by a Termination letter 21 days later, fornally cancelling the facility, as you are unable to make payments in accordance with the T&Cs.
Our debt recovery Office will contact you shortly with regard to your repayment proposals, and the suspension of interest charges (WOOHOO! :T) ... Please note.. interest will continue to be added to your account, until the payment proposals are accepted... (hmmmm...) ...
Should a third party be dealing with your account please forward this letter to them.
(Nope.. doing DMP it myself)
If you have not already done so, please return you card (s) Cut it in half for security reasons.
Yours sincerely.Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

RBOS
A notice of default.. (that was fast!)
Still not nasty or scary tho.. Phew!
Something along the lines of
'Thankyou for telling us you are unable to correct the position of your account because of your financial problems. We think the best course of action now is to withdraw your CC facility, so we enclose a Default notice which you should read carefully. We have to send you a notice of default by law before we can terminate your account. (gawwd! wish they would ALL do this!) .. with you and arrange a repayment programme.
At the end of the stipulated period, your agreement will be formally terminated and we shall again contact you with regard to repayment of the outstanding balance.
You will not be able to use your card (return it, cancel any DD) etc etc. (all nice and polite)
.. Phew... thats not too bad then. :T (so far.. anyway haha!) :rotfl:Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

That is all pretty good stuff then, really. Hopefully, with RBS at least, you shouldn't be hassled on the phone etc. They can obviously see that you are genuine in not being able to afford it, but also genuine in your desire to get things sorted properly, and that will go in your favour.
and now you know it is not all nasty and scary, you can have the confidence to proceed!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Also got a 2nd letter from them.. Got 1st reply yesterday asking for more info .. wages slip, bank statement etc. (Nice letter though)
2nd letter says something about about: That I have two options.. One is to pay off in 6mths (which I was kind of aiming at anyway, as I have a LITTLE extra money coming soon.. hopefully. It's one of my smaller debts. £939. So I MAY take this option)
They said 6 payments.. or 5 smaller.. and one end payment. I dunno yet, I have to think about that.
No default notice if I stick to it.. and no interest of charges for the 6mths.
Or Option2 .. Longer payments..
Oh actually.. after saying all that, I still might go for option 2.. It sounds pretty much the same.. but reviewed 12monthly (!).. and interest and charges not applied while I am sticking to what we agree. :T
The only real difference I can see is that I WILL get a default notice doing it this way.
And to be honest.. I've already got one from RBOS (just now).. and about to get plenty more.. (13 creditors!) so one more isn't going to make any difference now is it.
So maybe option 2.. but still throw all I can at it to get it gone. (well.. squirrel money away for it.. then ask for a Full and Final maybe?)
Dunno..
Anyway.. I hope all this helps someone else with these creditors.. :beer:Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

Dear Sirs,
Thank you very much for your prompt replies to my letter notifying you of my financial difficulties.
I really appreciate your understanding and the options you have offered me to pay you what I owe.
Of the two options you have offered me. I would like to ask that we start Option 2 ~ Longer term payment. I realise that this will put a default notice on my account., but to be honest it is the least of my worries for now, and I would just like to get everything back on track.
I am enclosing for you, as requested, copies of banks statements, wages slips and benefits received and an updated financial statement.
