So far.. I've been really good at not being talked into anything.. Infact I think I have been as politely unhelpful as I can.. :rotfl:

I'm just trying to make sure SOMEONE in the right department reads it.

I just got my 2nd Default Notice .. (first one was from RBOS.. they were FAST. It was their 'reply' to my letter/offer. :rotfl:)

This one today.. is from Egg.. 'Default Notice' ... giving me until early July (wont date it.. in case they are reading haha ) ... to pay the (missed one payment) arrears. After that they say they are passing it to their Solicitors.. or a DCA.

I also got a letter from Halifax.. Just asking me to pay the one missed payment. :rolleyes: READ MY LETTERRR EEjits!...

Oh! and FINALLY my Co-Op Cashminder account stuff arrived.. Thats the account I'm going to use for DMP payments only. So at last I can set all those up today. Phew!

hardly anyone knocks on my door.. mostly because all my friends/family.. and children's friends, just come in.

This morning.. I was eating my breakfast .. dressing gown on.. hair all over the place.

and I heard this *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* on the door.. _pale_

I tip toed to the door.. (smoothing my hair down).. and behind the glass I could see a big tall man, dressed in black, with a black briefcase.. :eek:

Debt collector!!! :eek: already???? :eek:

Soooo.. I thought.. hmm.. I know my rights! (i think )

Tightened my dressing gown.. smoothed my hair again.. Flung open the door, ready for battle.. and said.. 'Hi.. can I help you?' ... (ready to tell him to clear Orrrrf ~ nicely

I have never.. EVER been sooo pleased to see a Jehovah Witness at my door! :T:j:T

I nearly asked him in for tea! :rotfl:

Anywayy. .. lesson learned.
I CAN cope if a DC agent turns up at my door. :T

I'm jealous! :rolleyes: I've been waiting since Feb for Egg to default me on 2 accounts. They keep sending me letters saying that if I don't contact them/pay up/sell them my right kidney they'll default me in 10 days....but I'm still waiting!

Have you rung them/answered their calls at all? Would be interested to hear what response you have.

Anyway, don't let the b***ers grind you down!

They have called me twice.. (once at work! My employers :mad::mad:)

Then about 3 weeks later caught me on the phone.. (a few days ago) ..
Asking for a payment.. and I said.. (nicely)
'Look.. I wrote to you a MONTH ago to tell you I have financial probs.. and will for the foreseeable future, aaand I have waited and waited and waited for YOU to respond, aaand until today.. I haven't heard a word.
Also.. you are still only asking me to pay the arrears on my account.. When I have ALREADY written to you and told you I want to.. but I CANT.
I am on a DMP .. I have taken advice from PP and National Debt line'.. He asked if they were doing my DMP (he was polite and friendly) .. I said 'No.. that I was doing it myself using their advice'

He said he would update the records ... Then a few days later I got that default notice.
He was kind, friendly.. and dare I say 'understanding' .

I was just thinking CM.. are you doing anything today? .. I'm off work all week.. Its nice out.. we COULD meet for a coffee or an ice cream and walk along the prom or something.. IFFFFFFFFF you want. No probs if not.

Hi Eupho,

only just seen your post, sorry. I've got a job at my son's school til the end of term, so have been at work today. I'm really pleased cos the money will definitely come in handy!

Would be good to meet up sometime though and have a chat. I think it's pretty amazing that we live in the same area! Of all the forums in all the world etc. etc. etc. Let's keep in touch and try and sort it out soon.
