Ohh golly.. I am getting sooo bored of all this 'waiting' .. :rotfl:

Waiting waiting waiting.. for replies from my creditors.

Everything is moving SOOOOOO slowly.. and I don't like 'slow' haha! I just want this all up and running ASAP.. good or bad.. So I at least know where I'm at and what I am meant to be doing.

I phoned Co-Op yesterday to find out why its taking so long to open the Cash Minder account.. The lady said the account IS open.. and the stuff is on the way to me already. :T So that's good.. As soon as I get that I will go on-line and set up all my SOs for my DMP payments.

So far.. (a month later).. No one has 'agreed' to any of my offers.. (Out of 12 creditors).. But that said.. only one has refused. (so far) ..

A few of them have written asking for more info.. which I haven't sent (because I know I don't HAVE to) .. But we'll see.

I'm just going to set up the monthly Standing Orders.. sit tight.. and see what happens next.

I phoned SKY to find out why when I tried to (originally) take out the 'All in One' package.. phone/Tv/ BB ... That I STILL have to pay £17 per month for the BB.

They said I am too far away from the BB exchange.. so its that or nothing from them.

The chap on the phone told me to call the cancellations dept.. and ask for my MAC code.. so they knew I was considering my options of finding a cheaper BB provider.. He says.. 'usually' they will offer you a better deal to 'keep' you..

Sooo.. I did that.. and the lady said 'Yep.. one moment.. I will get your MAC code.. here you go.. byeee then'

    hahahah!!

Duh!.. so that didn't work. I'm thinking of calling again.. and saying 'I am considering leaving.. £17 per month  Too far from the exchange'.. etc etc.. and see if THAT person will offer me a better deal.

BUT!.. In the meantime.. I am going to have a look now for cheaper providers.

Switching to SKY BB.. (to get and 'All in One' ) I actually ended up paying more than the £12 per mth.. I was paying to AOL..

    Anyhoooo...

I'm bored of no replies..

LOL - Eupho I do sympathise, I'm no good at being patient and waiting for things either......hopefully the letters you are waiting for will come soon and with the right answers.

How much is your Hitachi Sofa debt? Is it worth looking to get that cleared instead of Capital one when you get that cheque you're waiting for? Those sorts of people often seem to get nastier, quicker than CC companies and banks.....just a thought, and there is a good chance that someone else with more knowledge on the subject will come along and say you shouldn't anyway......plus obviously depends on the APR's etc.

    Hellooooo

The Sofa debt is hmm.. £1300.. I think. (give or take a few quid)

I did wonder too about trying to pay them off first.. I do have a feeling they are going to pull out all the stops to get their money back. .. Just by their nasty responses .. and so soon. (they reply virtually return post each time too haha!)

But for now I don't have that much money.. I do have some insurance money coming soon... FUNNILY enough.. It's a claim for when DFS damaged my house getting the sofa in. (don't want to be too specific here.. and I heard lots of the creditors they read the forums) :rotfl:
and I have some money coming back from the Tax Office (claiming back 6yrs to do with my mileage for work) ..

But I think by the time I have those.. Hitachi Capital will have gone for the jugular _pale_ .. haha.. Soo.. I'm not sure.. I just have to sit back for a moment and see what happens next.

    have a lovely weekend!

Oo just as I finished writing that Egg called me.

They asked if I could make a payment to my CCard.

I said.. 'Errm.. (HELLO?! duh!) .. I wrote to you a month ago letting you know I was now on a DMP .. Financial probs blah blah.. Sent SOA.. Letter.. Token payment.. etc etc.. So I have been waiting to hear from Egg.. I know the letter was read because I sent it recorded delivery, aaaand you cashed my token payment' ...

    He said.. 'Oh' .. :o

    hahah..

Anyway.. He said he is going to get on to that and that I will hear from them soon.

    Hi Eupho,

Great news about being able to pay off your smallest credit card! I am sure it will be a great boost to you.

Oh and well done for taking control of the egg phone call and not letting them bully you into making payments!

You seem to be doing really well at taking control of the situation, can imagine how fustrating it is waiting for the replies though!!

    Hi Flower!..
not sure that I am 'taking control' ...
Honestly.. I'm fumbling about all over the place. haha!

For example: .. I just wrote a shirty letter to Barclaycard.. regarding half the missing info on my CCA request (I was annoyed and not thinking.. :rotfl:)

BUT!.. thankfully I thought to ask before I sent it.. Because .. A.. Its not a good idea to send it.. (yet, anyway)..

    and

B.. I had written to my Barclaycard Cash back card (on the envelope) instead! :wall:
I was about to send it!.. haha!
It would have had the wrong account info on it.. and I haven't even asked them for a CCA yet! They would have been wondering what I was blathering on about. :rotfl:

And this is from someone who professes to keep Good Records of everything. (now, anyway ;)

I'm off work for the next week.. WOOHOO!! :T

While the kids are at school I think I'm going to start phoning my creditors.. (I think) ..

At least to find out what they have on their records regarding my DMP.
I'm beginning to wonder if half my letters/offers (posted on 15th May) .. have even made it yet to the right places yet.

At least perhaps if I call the right departments.. (collections?) .. and TELL them about my DMP .. I can see where we go from there.

Mind you.. I told HSBC.. and the dozy woman on the phone just said she would make a 'note' of it on my file.
That may just sit there if I don't push it.. mightn't it..:rolleyes:

I dunno.. I'll see how brave I feel tomorrow.. :rotfl:

I know you want to push things forward, but is ringing them really the best way of doing it? Would you do better sending chase up letters to them I wonder - again sending them signed for so you know they've been received (have you followed up the tracking on the first letters by the way, to check they have all been signed for?) and asking for a response within, say, 14 days? I'm wary of phone calls, as it's very easy to get caught off guard on the phone......

I think the reason she wants to phone is that she doesnt really even know if the letters have been received at the right departments. Its such a pain that you cant just send them to one address, i remember looking for a HSBC address a few weeks ago and found 4 different ones before giving up!! It was just pot luck that they actually got my letter.

Know what you mean about being caught offguard on the phone though. I just think make sure you dont allow them to bully you into making extra payments etc...
