awwwwww tadpoles! bless!!
i think it is brill to take babies swimming.... i hate to see kids who never get swimming as they have learned fear by then... it's awful.
we took one of erin's pals to the pool once, never again, she was clinging onto me like a limpet... no idependence, no fun, just fear....I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Hello.
Feeling fabby today. Had a really good run last night (beat my PB for a mile) and Nathan has coped really well with his first round of innoculations:j
Well done Luc :T and well done Nathan
Having no actual work to do, I've gone into 'sorting' mode and am trying to fix lots of niggly things that have been hanging around for ages at work. Keep finding lots of things that are done in silly time-consuming ways etc.. am on a mission...Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

I'm determined he will be a better swimmer than me - my Dad isn't much of a swimmer and Mum was too ill to take me to lessons so I relied on school teaching and because of the teachers striking at the time there were no lessons so I never started swimming until I was 10 and then they were only interersted in getting you to essentially doggy paddle across the pool...
HUbbles Mum & Aunt were national swimmers and he was a life saver so hopefully its in his genes...
Think I'm more nervous about my performance next week! Note to self - remember to defuzz on Monday/Tuesday next week!
In other news - there's a 10k in Paisley on 30th August - do I go for it or is it too soon before the 10k on 6 September????26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

Back from the pet shop, Rocky is now beetling around in his hamster ball, the cats are intrigued by the new 'meals in wheels' phenomenon.
I bought him chew brick thingies, a seesaw, a wooden house with lots of holes in, a loofah ball, some mineral wheels, a little fluffy cosy bed thingy and a teeny weeny hamster toilet!

We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
I've just spent about 10 mins solid crying down the phone to James. Basically, I'd had no motivation to get any work done so he agreed to nag me until I did something. Only it turned into him wanting me to get a set amount done every day, no matter what else happened. It got to the point where I was ending up asking for permission to do other things. So we've had a talk and he's agreed to let me do things at my pace now, as long as I actually do something every day.
I'm still really tired and now I have a headache from crying as well. I'm going to have some Pro Plus to keep me going and then go into town to sort that bank account.

in theory you'd be running 6 miles in training a week before your 10k, so as long as you just had one 3 mile session in between, say on the wednesday then i don't see why not.....

ghost - have you seen the Good Enough thread on MSE? It's a thread where lovely peeps all motivate each other to do 'something' each day, even if that is 1 thing from a huge list of whatever life is chucking at them. It doesn't matter how small it is - ie wash up last nights pots, it's about achieving something and thinking - you know what, that really is good enough.
Anyone else wake up to a yellow car this morning? In particular, those who didn't own yellow cars when they went to bed?! Felt mega rough this morning, thought perhaps a cold rather than hayfever as it had rained last night.
Opened the door and it looks like my car took itself off in the night and had a bloody good roll in a rapeseed field over night. And so had everyone elses cars at work!!
Right.........I have an IT course to plan today........gulp. It's the starting with an empty folder which is the most daunting bit!!!"Stay Wonky":D

I am sorely tempted to give it a bash... apparently the Paisley route is flat and fast...26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

well you could try and grab a PB at Paisley... and take it easy the next week....
or view Paisley as a training run and get your PB the next week.... if it's a good course....
