The thing is though (unless I'm missing something), you're not actually legally entitled to a refund at all!
There's nothing wrong with the clothes apart from them being the wrong size/ style.

I know a moment of stupidity. However right now I feel like getting all my clubcard vouchers not yet used and burning them on the hob and shopping at ASDA for life.
you can senf them to me
you exchanged your vouchers for clothes - so must have wanted clothes
you decided you wanted to get a refund and get £ 50 in cash / vouchers to spend on some thing else in store so went to exchange

they have followed their t and cs so your behaving like a spolit brat

    you have £25 to spend

Am I missing something here ? If you don't want clothing I am a littel confused as to why you exchanged your CC vouchers for double up clothing vouchers - presuamably intending to buy clothes?

Tesco may be stupid but they are not TOTALLY inept and I can see why they will only give refunds in the form of vouchers for the same type of purchase - otherwise people would soon spot that they can double up their vouchers on clothing etc, return for a refund and get an 'open' voucher which they can then spend on food !!!

Please don't think I'm accusing you of anything so devious . It would be fairer to customers if Tesco issued the double up value on refunds with the proviso that it myst be spent on the same type of goods ie clothing etc. But, as others have said, if you return the items to another store without the receipt you will get the full double up value of £50 on a gift card so won't be any worse off. Whether that will HAVE to be spent on clothing is an un-tested issue !

To be honest I agree with robpw2, They have followed the correct T+C's, You spent the origional vouchers on clothes, Therefore you should get clothes vouchers back. The clothes are not faulty, Therefore Tescos dont legally have to give you a refund/replacement.

I don't understand why Tesco can't just put the clubcard points (in this case £25 worth) back on the clubcard. Like they do if you need a refund on deals vouchers you can't use.
When I worked in Game and someone returned something bought using reward vouchers we just refunded the reward points back to the card. The customer had to wait til the next mailing to use the points again (this was when we gave out vouchers), but as a customer I don't see this as a problem.

Or in this case I don't see why they couldn't offer another £50 double up clothing voucher - ok it's not necessarily what the OP wants but the value of their voucher is still the same, and it's what they chose in the beginning.

    It's only a game

  • There is no way I am being forced to accept a £25 clothing gift card.
but you would had liked £50 in cash and dipped out? But you went in and grabbed £50 of clothing and though I'd take em back?

If you do not like the reduced voucher, then sell the things on ebay

Can't you select some other clothing to the value of £50 and just ask thm to exchange them for you.
