  • Biggest problem with this is lack of support. If we knew the original manufacturer we may stand a chance of obtaining multi-region codes, remote control codes, firmware updates etc; none of which are (easily?) obtainable from ebuyer. (I have a 22" F&H TV DVD combo which is decent enough but cant make the most of its features).

I have a 32"lcd F&H tv and it is great.

I got it as the reviews were excellent and I had no idea it was a secret that F&H is ebuyers own name brand. I thought it was common knowledge!

It is cheap and cheerful and has all the technology required for the next couple of years. After that things will have changed and if I had spent £700 on a tv that was out of date or unusable a few years later I would be gutted.

I ditto the above, we have the same one as you and have no problems whatsoever with it

  • I have just ordered the 42" LCD so look forward to receiving it in the morning, with a three year guarantee well pleased. When I phoned them to ask some questions the girl freely said the they were Ebuyer owned.
  • Bought this TV for our sunroom. Ordered 9.30pm , arrived next day before noon and this was to Northern Ireland. Full marks to EBUYER and the courier. Lovely looking TV and good menu system but the sound was terrible. Very tinny no matter what setting I used. Actually, changing the setting had no effect at all and was really uncomfortable to listen to. Tried it in a different room but no different. I am not a sound buff and have two other small flat screen tv's in the house. One of these the sound is not great but bearable. This was way below this. Was offered a replacement or refund but opted for refund. I can't believe this could be a one of, what can really go wrong with both speakers. Ihave submitted this review to ebuyer so we will see if they publish it in their review section for this product.

I dont think people have quite got the OP's point:

all the other brand names that are being mentioned, the holding/owning company will quite openly state that they are in fact their own brands

it seems that ebuyer are trying to present F&H as a seperate brand & company, when its no such thing

so Ebuyer now supply W.H. Smith?

    Now that is interesting.
  • Right, we bought one of the 42" ones for the school I work at, to be used as a display hooked up to a computer. I'm pretty happy with it actually, as I think in terms of bang for buck it does fit the bill.

However there is one little problem i'm having with it. Since it's being used as a display unit, I was happy to find the TV had a handy ON/Off timer built in, which I attempted to set with the schedule on which our computers come on/off. However, the default mode for the 'on' setting is set to 'DTV', and I want it to come on with 'VGA', for the computer. It's really odd, as this setting is within the 'on' timer menu, however it seems I cannot change it, unlike the rest of the settings...

As there are a few others who seem to have bought the same TV on here could someone try it out and let me know if it's just ours, or if it's a problem across the board. It's only a little issue, but it means that my lovely display unit won't come on unless someone sets the input manually each day... and try getting the teachers to do that !

Tried looking in the manual, and although there is a screenshot of said menu, there is no mention of the mode setting. Plus the e-mail for support on the F&H website doesn't go anywhere it seems...

If anyone could try that would be brill! Thanks :T

Ihave submitted this review to ebuyer so we will see if they publish it in their review section for this product.

Much as I do like (and use extensively) Ebuyer.... the reviews are to be taken with a pinch of salt.

When they first introduced the reviews, they were quite good, they did give a balanced view (overall) with some "warts & all" comments.

I bought an Ebuyer's own brand DAB Radio for the kitchen. The lowest volume setting was FAR Too loud, I mean REALLY loud. The only way I could use it was to wrap a tea towell around it to muffle the sound.

There is no way you could hold a conversation in the kitchen whilst it is on.

For the sake of about £20 I couldn't be bothered returning it so I gave a suitably appropriate review..... which didn't get published, and now hardly ever use it.

I have also reviewed a Digital Camera, a positive review which was published. They even copied my own review and put it against TWO different types of camera's I have never used (with my name as the reviewer).

The reviews are heavily vetted, if it is not positive toward an Ebuyer product, it is unlikely to get on the board, which is a concern where people are relying on the reviews to make their judgement.
