Beware FOEHN & HIRSCH is ebuyer own brand

just to let you h=guys know that when you see the brand
FOEHN & HIRSCH

it is simply ebuey buying white goods from the far east and rebranding them, I have had trouble with two mp3 players from that brand and Ebuyer wont admit they own the brand dispite buying it from them
here is the brand patent from the patent office :

Well it's a shame that you've had a problem with these MP3 players but what's wrong with ebuyer having their own brand?

I agree - surely it's no different to ASDA selling Own Brand products that could be exactly the same as those sold in Tesco, made by the same manufacturer but with a different label?
 I work for a loan company - I do not post to represent the Company view or to promote their products or services. Please be nice to me!

Or Dixons having their own 'Matsui' brand.. which probably seemed like a good idea at the time. It sounds Japanese, right? Except that Matsui is also the last name of the Japanese general/war criminal deemed responsible for the Nanking Massacre.

We have bought a Foehn and Hirsch LCD tv and are delighted with the quality. We regularly purchase from Ebuyer because we find them reliable and have never had a problem with any of their products.

Nothing whatsoever - if it's legal, decent, honest andf truthful!

Having dealt with ebuyer a few times previously, I would have no qualms whatsoever with buying their own brand merchandise, but why not call it "Ebuyer" - why dress it up with a Swedish or German sounding name if it isn't intended to mislead the public? Asda's own brand "George" or Marks and Spencer "St Michael" or British Homes Stores "Prova" and Tesco's "Delamare" (that's going back a bit!) were never intended to hoodwink anyone - in fact, those honourable companies were proud of their own brands!

Unfortunately for ebuyer, I have high moral and ethical standards so I won't be dealing with them any more, as I don't knowingly deal with others like Dixons/Currys/PC World who deliberately mislead or misinform:

The Foehn and Hirsh, Matsui and Packard-Bell brands may be fine products - but the names are intended to mislead, making the businesses behind them dishonest traders.

If you're happy to be treated as a "mug" then that's your affair.

So should things sold by 'British' firms have British names??

What about if it was British but is owned by French/Spanish - which language do we use?

What about Sony gear - some is made in China - so since China doesn't use our letters should it have just Chinese characters instead of a name??

Philips [Dutch] has an english-sounding name, but assembles stuff in the Philipines with components from China and India - so the name should be???

What about Toyota - makes the same car in three different countries - should there be three different manufacturuer and model names if we import from all 3 sources?? Gee that's not confusing at all.

Anyone else see a slight contradiction there?

OK, not consumer electronics but related in the sense that you need their 'product' to make them work - Scottish Power are wholly owned by a Spanish company.
