I dont think people have quite got the OP's point:

all the other brand names that are being mentioned, the holding/owning company will quite openly state that they are in fact their own brands

it seems that ebuyer are trying to present F&H as a seperate brand & company, when its no such thing
  • I find no problem with the company having a branded product. eBuyer have had many over the years however it is illegal in the UK for a company not to have certain details on the website and this site is illegal due to that.

in the UK all company related sites have to display
    • Company registration number
    • Place of registration
    • Registered office address
    • The name, postal address and email address of the website's service provider
    • The name of any trade bodies or professional bodies of which the company is a member
    • If the company is VAT registered, the VAT number must be shown even if the website is not used for e-commerce
This site displays none of these making it illegal.

They certainly have the VAT number on the website, took me 30 seconds to find it. Also they have the company address all over.
  • To be fair, by the time anyone is old enough to afford to buy a dvd player, they should be wise enough to know, unless you buy a product with a reputable brand name with a more expensive price tag, don't expect the product to be the best you can buy.

Buying an unknown brand's product, is a gamble; everyone wants to to exchange copper for gold, sometimes it pays off, other times it goes from the box it's packaged in, straight to the bin 'cause it's a load of crap.

I'm still gonna buy one myself next time i get paid, and if it doesn't work, i won't blame ebuyer, i'll blame myself for being cheap.

It also says beware, indicating the products sold under this brand are low quality; which they probably are, people should know this already without having to read a thread about it, i mean who the f*#@ are foehn & hirsch?
  • Tescos electrical goods are branded Technika are they not? sounds nothing like a british company or related to The Tesco name.

Who really cares what they brand their goods at - better then it saying 'cheap tat' isnt it?

why does it matter, what's in a name? it's the price you should beware of.

    Cheap = Rubbish
Very Expensive = you're being ripped off.

Try going for something in between and you'll not need to moan on forums.

I have a 32"lcd F&H tv and it is great.

I got it as the reviews were excellent and I had no idea it was a secret that F&H is ebuyers own name brand. I thought it was common knowledge!

It is cheap and cheerful and has all the technology required for the next couple of years. After that things will have changed and if I had spent £700 on a tv that was out of date or unusable a few years later I would be gutted.
If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!
  • I see no reason to BEWARE ....

Just last week I bought their 42" LCD TV for £450. Did I read the reviews ... yes, was I aware the TV was a rebadged OEM ... yes. Will I be pulling the badge from the front of the TV because I feel I've been conned ... no.

Rebadging of white goods has been taking place for decades now, if you want to pay for a label fine, under the bonnet its OEM not B&O.
