Sent my paperwork back on the 22nd, there is a search on my file for the 24yh:

    HSBC Online: Identification Generic Check

Called them and they said it's now in the final stage of processing and the final part will be done on Monday/Tuesday.

Good Luck - although i'd have thought they'd have confirmed the account already, going on what others have said - I just hope you don't get referred - which is what happened to me (after sending forms back) - I knew i'd been declined when they couldn't confirm anything verbally, after a week.

Good Luck - fingers crossed for you :D

It does all sound a bit suspect doesn't it.

Although I have no negative data at all, none that I can see anyway. Still you never know with these people do you!!

    Will keep you posted.
  • Update!!

Called them today. They have searched my partners creit file with Experian twice on the 27th with 'Unrecorded Enquiry;. Nothing on mine.

Woman said it looks like it's just about to be opened any day now. Although judging by other posts this is not normal so i am not holding out much hope......

One month on, how do you like them then? Do you have an overdraft and credit card or refuse the option for those? ;)

so far for me they're streets ahead...

no overdraft or credit card (yet - looking to apply for a credit card to balance transfer my lloyds card soon)

online banking is a little outdated - could do with an easy to see available balance, and the ability to see and do more with direct debits and standing orders. but this is more than made up for by their phone service

in the process of switching my isa now too..better interest rate and service!

So don't you get the standard overdraft then? You should have taken their CC offer lol - but wonder if you'll find it easier having got the bank account?

Please do keep us posted :D:D

I'm on the phone to First Direct now regarding my current account application as I was credit checked yesterday (form already signed and returned). They said it's been passed to their review team. There wasn't a yes or no yet. :(

Edit - my mobile died as someone from the applications team was going to 'get things moving'.

    UGH!!! Hopefully they'll ring back.

Edit- They phoned me back. The guy said he can get everything done today, he just needs to ask a few questions. When he finished, he said the account would be opened today.

I'm hoping this means I've been accepted. I can't login to internet banking at the moment. It's telling me there's an error and to try later. :(
