MONEY MORAL DILEMMA. Would you give up a £50 train seat for a pregnant woman?

How does that mean she couldn't have boarded the train at a first class carriage at most stations, if she could see it was crowded through the windows? We are talking about a hypothetically able-bodied pregnant woman here, are we not?
maybe not enough time to walk down the platform that far depending where 1st class was in comparison to where she got on (my mum says when she was heavily pregnant with me and my twin a 5minute walk would take her 30mins...). or platform itself too crowded either for her to get to a different carriage or for her to get to windows to check if it was a good carriage. too many possible variables to know if she should have done that or not lol

Maybe she should have thought about this and booked herself a seatnot the bit about your mum, obviously

And what assumption is that??0

Its a tough one but I dont think I would unless she was in serious distress.
Everybody knows how simple it is to book in advance and reserve seats,
so why couldnt the pregnant woman reserve a seat knowing full well the situation she is in.0 -
Several people have mentioned the financial implications but it's not about the money for me tbh. Why should I be made to feel guilty enough to give up a seat I paid for just because someone (anyone) else didn't bother to plan ahead knowing full well it was a 5 hour journey on one of the busiest days of the year? If they couldn't be bothered to book a seat then why not wait for the next train or leave a day earlier or later? Why would someone choose to put themselves and their unborn child in that position in the first place, and why would they expect to be given a seat when they've neglected to arrange one for themselves?0

Of course I would!
I would also be very happy to turf any of you meanies out of yours if you refused should a second heavily pregnant lady came along.0 -

And I'm sure those so-called "meanies" would be equally happy to press an assault charge against you if you did.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
Here's this week's hypothetical situation for you to cogitate on:Would you give up a £50 train seat for a pregnant woman?
You book an advance seat on a five-hour train journey. It’s a Bank Holiday weekend, and there’s standing room only for non-reserved passengers, including a heavily pregnant woman. Normally you'd be up in a flash, but are loathe to give up your seat, as you paid £50 for it and booked early, knowing it would be crowded.Click reply to have your say

No I would not give up my seat! she should have either prebooked like the rest of us, or not travelled when so heavily pregnant!
If she had been on a bus or train that I had not paid £50 to RESERVE a seat form thats a different matter, but just because she is pregnant, it does not make her stupid, and prethinking travel arrangements is something she should have taken the responsibility to do.
What would worry me, is if she were travelling then and had not even considered reserving a seat, and so prethinking something as simple as a train journey, what on Earth would she do when she had her child, would she have remembered to buy it any clothes?
I live on £50 a week- once my rent is paid, £50 has to cover everything else. If I had that money paid for a seat, I would have to be knocked out before I gave it up- I would normally have sat on the floor, so had I paid £50 I would have done so for a very good reason, and giving up my seat would just not happen -unless she paid me the £50 back again.0 -
Do i sit all the journey feeling guilty and therefore uncomfortable or stand all the journey and feel physically uncomfortable. No doubt - take a seat luv0
