Everyone is taking this well out of proportion

    I beg to differ.

You were the one who PMd misslinda
It seems that you are the one who has things out of proportion.

This is a competition forum. We post competitions that we find. End of story

Thanks to all who post comps :A :T
  • This comes up time and time again - usually with the ITV comps and the puzzler ones. There is always a big kerfuffle and people get their feelings hurt. It's such a shame.

Personally, I like Misslinda's posts - I like the extra info and the funny emoticons.

I can, however, also understand why people might feel a bit miffed if they regularly post the same comps and then somebody else does. I'm not saying they are right or wrong - I'm just saying that I understand.

What I DON'T understand is resorting to childish behaviour and PM'ing another member to say "me and my gang don't like you so push off". Utterly pathetic - nevermind being downright rude.

I still don't see why we can't have a sticky with lists of regular posters on the main board. It would certainly avoid a lot of this unpleasantness.

I think "Collective" should be ashamed.

You don't own the boards, you don't own the competitions.

Some people post certain comps, because they want to and it's just easier for all if they do. But they are regular type competitions.

Anything else can be posted by anyone.

See it, search it, post it.

    Happy to discuss.

I agree with you Al - and many others it seems .
'Collective' is almost certainly working alone.
More than likely someone who has been 'pulled' in the past for posting so called regular posters comps and feels this is an appropriate way to retaliate.

They are a petty, small minded coward who wants to create trouble on the board - maybe cos there hasn't been any real dramas in a while! :p

So well done misslinda for 'outing' them rather than staying away from the board as I'm sure they wanted to try to intimidate you to do.

I know there are a lot of sites out there - but most regular folk are aware of the sites folk post from, although I think a list may be a good idea , its not as necessary as it is on postals etc because there is no outlay ie/ the cost of mag/paper etc.

    OH MY GOD!!!

I've just come home and read all of this (here and on the main board). MissLinda, I can't believe people are behaving like this. Its spiteful, childish and petty.

I for one (although I see that I am by no means alone) love your postings. Most of them are for fashion items, so its great to have a little pic to see if I want to enter - what's the point of entering to win a dress or a handbag that I don't like

I did think initially when I read the first complaints that maybe the prob was with the photos, but now I'm not so sure. I think 'Collective' is just being very silly. Plenty of regular posters copy and paste huge chucks - thinking of Terms and conditions.

I have posted monthly comps myself, come back to post the following month and find someone has already done it. So what!! Saves me the hassle of doing it.

MissLinda, you just carry on, we appreciate all your efforts.

I am a little bit concerned that there is some sort of underground !!!!! patrolling this site and ganging up on new members.

I can't believe that people are made to feel so unwelcome.

Edit - Just so you know, my blanked out word was not a swear word!!! It related to the ItalianGodfatherbrigade - god knows why that word is not allowed :rotfl:

This has really saddened me, but I'm glad you've brought it into the open MissLinda, as at least you can see from the comments that the majority here appreciate your posts and 'Collective' is hopefully a misnomer.

The only competitions here should be the ones posted, not between ourselves to post them!

    illegitimi non carborundum :D

added - I take it mods can't see ip addresses on this forum? It shouldn't be so easy for people to sign up under different names to harass other users anonymously, but maybe I'm being naive.
  • I am quite new to this forum but have used forums in the past...

This is really sad that people are bullying...

I really like misslindas posts... I think anyone who makes the effort to share information and posts ANY comps deserves only thanks....

Whats the betting that if 'collective' or their aka won anything from one of misslindas posts then they wouldnt be moaning!!
