  • Only just seen this & I have to say that it really saddens me to yet again see b1tchine55 on the boards.
I always feel that if someone has something to say, it should be done in a constructive & open manner, rather than hiding behind anonymous PM's.

Everyone has their own views, but the way this has been put across to misslinda, I feel, was very unfair.

Being perfectly honest, I have posted certain comps on here for the last year or so & it does sometimes irk me a bit when I go to post my usual comp to find that someone else has done it - I have to stress though that it only bothers me when the op has done a url search & ALL the comps for the last year have been posted by me.

Having said that - it's a minor irritation & I would never lay claim to any of the comps/websites I post on here. All comps are there to be posted by whomsoever comes across them.

Misslinda, hopefully this will not put you off from posting in the future. x

Only just seen this myself and I'm absolutely gobsmacked. Misslinda you have a really nice attitude on here, so please don't let this spoil things for you.

As some of you may know, I had a bit of a rocky start here, my first post was a competition and was accused left right and centre of working for nVidia of all things. It wasn't a pleasant experience for me until a BG stepped in to pour water on the flames, I ended up in tears which quickly went away as I was flooded with lovely PM's of support from the nice people here.

I guess everywhere you go, there are always going to be people who seem to be around solely to annoy, irritate and upset, and well done you for outing them rather than slinking away and letting them win.

Ive not posted on the subject yet, was holding back but decided to have a go

I thinkt that for someone to hide behind an AE and try to dictate who posts what etc is not on - if they have a problem just say it

This is an open forum and there are no restrictions on who posts what

Re the pictures and text: I used to post a picture of the prize and copy the prize description from the websites til it was mentioned by the powers that be that we should just put the prize description in our own words if we wanted to put it (or something along those lines:D) as some companies werent happy about the copyright situation

It must be about 4 years since I first started comping, I didnt post much to start with so I could work out the ins and outs of the board etc:D The board used to be such a friendly place but there seems to be getting more and more squabbles which has seen a few of the regulars disappearing (and talking of regulars whats happening with Kipper - is she ok? will she be back?)

misslinda - dont stop posting, dont let 'collective' (and I doubt there is more than one person) get to you, you do a great job posting comps

anyway thats enough from me, ill get back to what I was doing:D

Been reading about the situation and I agree with all posts. 'Collective' should come out and admit who they are instead of hiding behind the username.

Although I will say it's not a new problem, I've read some awful posts in threads just because people have posted ITV comps (for example) when someone else is down to do them. When it was done to me (Titchmarsh comps) I didn't say a word as it's a free forum and they posted first so I didn't bother. No problem. Others take it more seriously and attack for no reason (not the ITV regular posters I hasten to add). I posted more a while ago but now lurk and don't post unless I really want too for fear of being shot down. (T&C's are my main bugbear!).

On another note. I've missed a daily all this week because people keep needlessly bumping it! I'd have caught it on the first day if they hadn't done that! I know there is a thread for them but we don't all check there. If an answer or new link needs to be posted fair enough, but not just to bump to say it's another day.
    End of rant!
Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
    I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T

    Hiya All :hello:

have been away for a day to install my new 8GB memory, 1TB hardrive, 512MB graphic card, 3.20 GHZ quad processor, 64 BIT computer, :D:D

and I come back to find anarchy has broken out! :(

who is collective, I cannot find them on the members list

first of all may I say Misslinda that I appreciated your post's and long may they continue and as far as I am concerned anyone who doesn't appreciate your post's isn't a true comper

whoever collective are I think that it is downright despicable for them to have sent a PM to you and to comment personally on the way that you post

the definition of a forum is
A medium for open discussion or the voicing of ideas
if anyone has a problem with the way that Misslinda or indeed the way that I post or the way any forum member post's then it should be done openly and put forward for discussion or if you think that a post might be breaking the rules then you should PM a BG and let them decide

as for posting other forum members competitions, some forum members do post regular competitions from a selections of sites, however this does not mean that they own the competitions, and they have no given right to claim them as there own and they should not be irked or annoyed if someone post's what they consider to be quite wrongly in my opinion there competitions :naughty:

everyone is quite welcome to post from any of the previous sites that I have posted comps from including any that I may have posted regularly, in fact I appreciate them doing so as it saves me!! from posting them ;)

no one should be discouraged from posting comps because someone has previously posted comps from a particular site and as long as a comp has not been posted before the post's should be welcomed by everyone including regular selective site posters

I often come across comps where there is a regular poster and they have missed a comp out of there regular comp post's

surely at the end of the day it doesn't matter who post's a comp just as long as it is posted

    My twopennies worth!

Thanks to misslinda for the comps you post, I think the more people we have posting comps, the more we all win, it's got to be the point of this forum, surely? So I really hope you carry on posting!

Big thanks to everyone who contributes on the comps board, you're all stars, whether you post one comp, loads, post in IWIWIW or whatever - if you help people to win things, by taking time to post on here, you're fab in my book.

    too many comps..not enough time!

Just a warning folks - the LoveYourHair website seems to now have a trojan on it, so be careful. It wasn't there when I posted all their comps earlier.
I'll email them in the morning if it's still there!
    Probably playing on fb :o
  • pm'd you misslinda as I didnt want to bump the blackberry thread but then I found this lol !! so heres another ((((hug)))) for you.

Good to see you posting again tonight. I too doubt that "collective" is more than one person, I also doubt they will have the courage or decency to own up to who they really are.

Whats great though is the support thats come through for you so keep posting and know that you really are appreciated.

Big thanks from me and heres to lots of comp wins for us all (except collective of course !!!)
Thanks to all posters and contributers

    Here's a link to a recently posted comp:http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=25404541#post25404541

The comp provider is not happy, I have pm'd Dalkirst to make him aware. Was wondering, can a comp provider descriminate by postcode?
Not been in here for years. Life got hectic!

Please don't listen to the people who have sent you that message it is absolutly disgusting, and very petty.
I agree with everything the others have posted here and am very greatfull to each and every person that shares a competition.
I think the people who are sending these messages must be obsessed with the 'Thanks' or something as I cant see any other reason for wanting to pip somebody at the post???
If I am honest I am so pleased I stick to the postals now as we dont seem to have any issues in there, Yes we do have a system in the postals thread but that would simply not be possible with the amount of online comps there are out there compared to amount of magazines.
Anyways I thought i would just say thank you for you posts and dont listen to the nasty lynch Mob
