Sorry guys but I can't figure out the E-value code system. What way should I enter the code for this bargain laptop? No matter which way I try to break up the code in the two input boxes, I can't seem to get it to work.

Which text goes in which of the two boxes, please?

I think Dell have closed this one down as it was maybe an error.

The cheapest now is £348 for the Inspiron 1300

The codes N03135b and N03135a have been deleted.

Details here - BUT DON'T FORGET TO BUY THROUGH QUIDCO FOR £15 CASBACK

  • Thanks for that, Chuffy, but I can only get it to £289 plus VAT and shipping. If shipping is £50, that takes it to £398. Am I doing something wrong?

Not strictly true, under Sale of Goods Act, the seller has a responsibility for faulty parts for up to 6 years - different parts have different life spans. It is also the sellers responsibility to cover the costs of collection and return.

Twaddle people keep quoting this 6 years and it alot more complicated, you have to proove the fault was there when you bought the item so how do you do the 5 years down the line ? , the seller also only has responsablity for return costs for a certain period of time 28 days is the norm but alot go beyond that and cover under the whole warranty.

I signed up for a small business account (genuine'ish) and got a £60. reduction on carriage, total £350.88. I am still wavering about ordering though. Not because of the value but not sure of the reaction of 'she who must be obeyed'.

I went for the better battery on my pricing. I'm torn between ordering now , for daughter going to Uni in Oct, and waiting so its new when she goes. If I wait the 90 days runs out and and I might not get such a good deal again.

Ring them up and tell them why you are thinking of returning it, quite often they'll give you an incentive to keep it ;)
Thanks to all who post constructively.

could ring them up and tell them you want to return - within your rights (distance selling regulations) - they will offer you a discount. If they don't you will have to pay for return costs which are approx £50 + vat. If you re-order you are still £60 better off. You can't really lose.
