I think this is because there was free shipping on N04131A up to wednesday . But it is no longer available hence an extra £60.
So you are better off looking at either.
N04135 £328.47 has DVD R/W OR
N04135B £339.00 has a DVD R/W and wide screen.
so both better spec and cheaper0 -
SellerXcom wrote:Hi,
I'm considering purchasing the laptop that Dell have on offer.
Does anyone know anything about the screen? I've seen laptop screens that are *very* hard to see in daylight, then I've seen the Sony Vaio Black LCD ones, which are excellent. Does anyone know what they are like?
I'm looking at the £339 one with wireless i-net and dvd writer.
Yes the screen is quite hard to see in daylight, but part of this is the energy saving routine when on battery reduces the screen brightness to conserve power it is possible to change this option but then the batteries don't last as long. Most buyers on this thread are going for the battery upgrade to 6 cell £11.75 which doubles the life of thebattery pack to about 4 hours on standard settings.0 -
to stop these threads getting clogged with discussion about the restore disk problem I have started a new thread in the techie section

When plugged in to the mains what is the screen quality like? How does it compare to say a Sony Vaio XBlack?
:money:
Many thanks0 -
