When I first used the DVD the set up menu asked if I wanted full screen so there must be an option menu somewhere.mnsfldpaul wrote:Mine arrived yesterday, well pleased with it so far :j . Does anyone know how I can make a dvd play full screen as it only seems to play in a rectangle in the middle and not full size.

Can somebody give me an idea about how good the graphics capabilities on this machine are?
It's close to the end of the deal, but I'm more and more tempted as the minutes pass.
I'd like to be able to play games like Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, FarCry, the original Half-Life games, Battlefield 1942 etc.
I realise that the onboard graphics card doesn't have any dedicated RAM but with 512MB system RAM, could it handle this sort of games okay or would it be struggling?0 -
Damn, this is too good to be wasted on a mere student. I wonder if I might be able to convince her she dosn't need it. Not too likely. Now its connected to the home network she'll be moulded to it.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I doubt very much any modern game will work on this low spec machine as it has a puny graphics card and processor, you will def need a laptop with a 3d card inIf you dont ask for discount you don't get discount0 -
It won't run cutting edge FPSs, but the games you mention should be bearable, especially if you reduce the detail levelThanks to all who post constructively.

Got to agree you will be ok so long as you dont play the demanding games at full detail.0 -
I've been watching this thread for days and decided to go for it yesterday and ordered the one with the bigger battery and 512MB RAM through business for £350.88 inclusive. Amazingly remembered to go through Quidco also! Hope this will be ok. I'm not technical and not too sure if I have got a good machine or not. I will need a wireless adaptor to hook up to my Netgear router. Any suggestions on good buys? The laptop is already on its way to me by carrier too.0

mnsfldpaul wrote:Hi Antonios,
I did try that but it still doesn't fill the whole screen. Do you know if it should fit to the whole width of the screen, as it is probably about an inch and a half short either side.
Many Thanks
Paul
Not sure if this wil help or not but if you left click anywhere on the desktop and go to graphic properties it has an option in the Displays Settings menu to select full screen.
Might not help but worth a try?Herman - MP for all!
