Sometimes you get what you pay for, although I agree Dell seem to have some great offers, BUT I also believe that Dell computers are cheap & nasty & are renowned for taking a long time, with no replacement if something goes wrong you may have to send back at your expence & wait a month or more for a replacement.

Schools used to always use Dell, but due to their bad customer relations this no longer seems to be the case.
I strongly disagree with this. The reason Dell can do computers at such good prices is because they only sell over the internet, don't have an expensive chain of shops to finance, and farm customer service out to India

They rely on people buying over-priced upgrades to make their money, but the pricing of the base machines is excellent for what you are buying, providing that you stick to one of their special offers and don't add too many upgrades

Their shipping facility is in Ireland, but all the PCs I have ordered from them have arrived in less than a week, and a lot quicker than the expected delivery date that they initially provided

Incidentally our daughter's school has jus finished being built, has literally thousands of computers and computerised whiteboards, and they are all supplied by Dell

    Here, here !!!

No one could say that Dell sell the best computers, but they are reliable, well built. I've bought over 30 machines in the last year and only 2 have gone wrong and that was down to kids being far too heavy handed with them. And although I had a little argument with Dell to get them fixed, they were fixed !

For the money, quality & reliability, you can't build any Intel machines for the same price.

Do all these laptops have wireless cards built in?

And do they not have PCMCIA slots?

Forgot to ask, do they also have a slot for a wired broadband (cat 5) connection?

A sad example of the English education system and falling standards !

I suggest you take a remedial English class ASAP.

Don't you think you will be wasting your money buying a computer, when clearly a spelling and punctuation guide/book will be of far greater use.

    Very amusing :rotfl:
