Sometimes you get what you pay for, although I agree Dell seem to have some great offers, BUT I also believe that Dell computers are cheap & nasty & are renowned for taking a long time, with no replacement if something goes wrong you may have to send back at your expence & wait a month or more for a replacement.

Schools used to always use Dell, but due to their bad customer relations this no longer seems to be the case.

That's an estimated delivery date, usually you'll receive well before then. I got mine 7 days before this date.

I would dispute that Dell are cheap and nasty. Despite Dell's service faults I have always found their PCs to be well put together and very robust - much better than any of the Medion rubbish you pick up in PCW or Comet.

Has anyone been able to trak their order via UPS? When I click on the link it just says "Unable to track shipment" Am I doing something wrong? I ordered it on Thursday, should I be able to track it?

I don't get why everyone is going so nuts about this! Back in January, Dell were doing a inspiron 1300 with a 60g hard drive, 512 memory, 15" screen, bigger battery and either a free case or battery for £383! Well worth it. I couldn't decide and missed it! It was mentioned on here though, and only about 3 people replyed, but everyone has gone wild for this one! Is it just because the very basic one is so cheap? I'm, worried they won't go down in price to the January deal again as so many people off here have ordered these, and Dell must be losing money! Saying that if you lot all get one now, there will be lots around in a few months time

Mine says despatched 19/3, unable to track on UPS yet, but also has the note 'Your order is currently with the carrier and a detailed status on your delivery should be available shortly.'

Sasha I don't think our order contribution is going to make any difference to Dell as regards their pricing. Incidentally the same models as these are selling for more on e-bay if anyone fancies a punt.

couldnt agree more,

when i get round 2 orderin a laptop it will b one that i can throw in my bag and take up and down 2 uni daily. all it will have 2 be able 2 do is have office, connect to the internet, play a few choons and maybe play championship manageer!

but if i was looking for a laptop for general use (dont need one, got a high spec pc) i would be looking elsewhere

I got a lovely call from a nice Indian women (calling from Hyderabad i beleive) at 8.30 on Sunday morning to check my delivery address! Just what you want when you've been drinking and marching to Bolivia 'till 4am. If this is a sign of the customer service to come, I'm getting worried!
