It does seem like a very good price - it's just I hate paying for things I'm not going to use :mad:0

Ordered one of these at 387 with all the upgrades and then managed to get the same machine with 256 mb intsead of 512mb at 75 quid less. I then emailed them to cancel the first order. Guess which one they cnacelled??? Yes you got it , the cheaper machine. Will be phoning customer service on monday. They have apparently dispatched te first machine already . Maybe they will let me keep it and pay the cheaper price.:)Starting MB- looking for Raf offers.

Ok, so how good is this deal?. Im so bloomin tempted because i cant remember the last good deal Dell had on Laptops for a price as low as this?.
How good a deal you rate it, on a scale of 1 to 10. I only need a laptop for wireless working at home/word processing email etc. is there a laptop anywhere else that can match it in terms or price/features so it can be compared?. And if so where?0 -
I've looked everywhere , online in shops and in computer mags. This is as good a deal as you can get as long as Dells subcontinent sales staff don't bollix it up for you!Starting MB- looking for Raf offers.

I would give it 9/10 for what you want it for.0 -
Just ordered last night, but only got the automated order acknowledgement email.
How long does it normally take before receiving the order confirmation and PDFs - don't they work over the weekends?
How do I know whether the order has gone walkabout like for many people in the past?

You just have to wait, it's not unknown for sytems to arrive without the purchaser ever receiving the PDF. Best thing is to keep checking your order status (daily) on the Dell websiteThanks to all who post constructively.

Got mine ordered but interested in what you say abbout GPRS access for free.
So , do you mean that if I get a new O2 payg sim I can then connect laptop to mobile phone and browse tinternet for nowt?
The o2 Online SIMs that they give away free a lot of the time have 5MB+ of free GPRS access on them straight out of the box.
As i have 40.. thats a lot of GPRS
As long as you have a phone which supports WAP over GPRS not just GSM it should work on your laptop if you get a data cable and use it as a GPRS modem.
