Well it is with me, well sort of. I am a small business.Benny24 wrote:MMMMmm this small business thing? Is it Kosher? :undecidedI'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Kilty - you don't have to be a small business, I ordered a desktop months ago and there was no problem - at worst you could be starting a small business.
Milgo - did you add the better battery?
bwc - you can buy the better battery on the N03136 but not the N03135
Sandybrag - it's £289 + VAT and there are 2 options N03135 with small screen and less RAM and N03136 with bigger screen and extra RAM (+ option to upgrade battery)
iainkirk - see above you can still get base model for £289 inc VAT (N03135)
Benny24 - don't worry about it - they won't do anything - see comment from Roger_Rampant
smartyarty - just contact sales - I have heard they are more difficult with this through small business - unsure how Distance Selling Regs affects business purchases.0 -
Just one word of caution, if you order as a small business you lose the automatic 7 day cooling-off period under DSRThanks to all who post constructively.

Kilty wrote:Also if you use brand new O2 online SIMs you can get GPRS access for free

Got 40 of them, really need to get a data cable for my Samsung e700
Hi,
Got mine ordered but interested in what you say abbout GPRS access for free.
So , do you mean that if I get a new O2 payg sim I can then connect laptop to mobile phone and browse tinternet for nowt?
On another point, the new deal on the small business section is obviously better than the deal I got a few days ago as it has 512 ram and not 256 ram but the price is approx £20 more .
Not really wanting to cancell and re order . Would I be able to buy another 256 ram myself. What type of ram is it ? Would this involve breaking a warranty seal to install it?
Thanks

There should be a flap underneath the laptop for installing the extra ram.0

Thanks, so if it did break I could simply remove my extra ram and send it back? no seals broken?Speculator wrote:There should be a flap underneath the laptop for installing the extra ram.

Does anyone know if I can get Windows removed from the Laptop and thus bringing the price further down?
I use Linux for the most part - I do have a couple of machines that run Windows, but they get used less and less these days. If I were to buy one of these I would uninstall XP and put Linux on it - so I don't really want to give M$ money for something that I won't be using.0 -
No, but the thing with Dell is that usually you are better off taking the standard offering. People ask about not having various things (such as monitor or OS), but quite often the price you are being charged is actually less than you could build the PC yourself for, but only if you take the whole package.
Similarly Dell tend to charge so much for upgrades that a lot of the time you are better off buying the upgrades from someone else and installing them yourselfThanks to all who post constructively.

You can give dell a call but I doubt very much that they would remove windows xp and give you a discount. These laptops are prebuilt and in boxes @ a dell warehouse ready for shipment.0
