We know very little about handsets, this is for a HTC Wildfire S, is this a reasonable handset? Also it's with Talkmobile, are they OK in terms of coverage, customer services etc? Any feedback on this deal would be much appreciated.
I'm on this deal, my post is just further down the page, I'm delighted with my phone and the £7.50 per month is over £2.50 less than I was paying on a sim only deal, with no data plan, with Vodefone.0 -
I'm with O2 and pay £27 a month and I'm 6 months into a 24 month contract. I looked into my account and I never use my allowance so I did a web chat with one of there advisors who promptly dropped me a tariff and saved me £6.50 a month! Really pleased I made the effort and asked! Didn't think they would even offer a drop in tariff while I was still in contract and got a new Samsung galaxy ii phone in January! All this on the back of getting martins email :beer:0

I had been with Vodefone for a long time, about 17 years. I had different contracts over that time, but the most recent was a SIM only deal giving 300 across network mins and unlimited texts, my husband and I were both on the same account so it was just over £10 each per month. The contract was for 12 months and was up in January 2012, I phoned and asked if they could do any better, but no we had the cheapest they offered. After that we were on a rolling month to month contract. Just last month going past the Carphone Warehouse, I saw they had a HTC smartphone, giving 250 mins, 5000 texts and 500 mb data plan for £7.50 per month. I phoned Vodefone to say I was leaving and needed the PAC code to release my number, their retentions people phoned an hour later with the code, and said, 'No we can't offer you any better, that sounds like a great deal'. So I'm now with Talkmobile, which uses Vodefone lines, I love my new phone and we're saving over £5 a month between us.
Is the phone any good?0 -
I failed with O2 today. I was paying £15.32 for 300 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet. I don't use anywhere near that. GiffGaff have their £10 bag at 250 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet. The best O2 would offer was their Simplicity at £10.50 with only 100 MB of data.
I've now got my PAC code and I'm off as I am way out of contract. They did not make any real attempt to keep my custom. I presume it's because they use somebody else's data system. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

I have been with T-Mobile for 18 months paying £20 for 300 minutes unlimited texts and internet, this included a Motorola Defy which I paid £80 for. At renewal the best they could offer was nowhere near what I could get with 3 after a cash-back deal so I got my PAC. (offered 300 mins, 5,000 texts, unlimited net @ £8.50)
I tried to switch to Gif Gaf but the PAC was incorrect so I rang T-Mobile today to have it checked. Whilst on the phone the guy asked if he could see if he could come up with a better deal, the result 300 minutes, 5,000 texts and unlimited net for £7.50. I said I wanted 600 mins and he said it would be £10, I said OK but I want a phone then, the reply, it's called SIM only for a reason, my reply, I'm called a cheeky B for a reason.
The result, 600 mins (which includes voicemail and 0800 numbers) 5,000 texts, unlimited net, 500 T-Mobile to T-Mobile minutes and an LG Optimus L3 touch-screen android phone for £10 a month on a 12 month deal, pretty happy as I'll sell the phone for around £60, making it £5 a month!!!!!0 -
I have been an O2 PAYG customer for the last 8 years but feel relly let down by their customer services dept. I found a deal with Carphone Wharehouse offering me 250 minutes any network, 5000 texts, 500mg data and a new phone on a 24 month contract for only £7.50 a month. I don't really want to leave O2 but on the two occasions I have called them they really don't seem interested. I asked if the could match the offer. They replied with what they said was a better packege on a 12 month contract consisting of 100 minutes, unlimited texts, 100mg data and identical phone to the other offer for £11 a month. This was supposidly half price. I was repeatdidly told how a 12 month contract is better and that O2 have better customer services but however hard I tried I could not get them to match the offer. I'd called on my mobile on the 4445 customer services number so when I asked for the disconnections department I was told this was it and he could give me a PAC code there and then. I then said I need time to think and hung up. This has made me feel that they really don't care about PAYG customers who are to them not spending a lot of money. Any suggestions?0

Yes. They could all sell their contracts at a loss and then go bust just so you can match a deal. Of course, I could get the same deal you found with a basic phone for absolutely nothing; perhaps they should match that too!0
