The best offers tend to come after you have requested your PAC which is effectively the start of your notice period. If you dont get any offer then go somewhere else using teh PAC to keep your mobile number.0

Going to phone up again on the 8th (day my contract ends) and request the code, hopefully they will come up with a better offer!0 -
If you do, your contract will continue until you use the code (within 30 days) or until you give 30 days' notice to terminate it. Ask for the code beforehand and make sure you use it within the 30 days if they don't come up trumps.0

Thanks for that. My contract technically ends on the 8th of August, 8th of July is when I can give them my 30 days notice (one of the few useful bits of information I managed to get out that 25 minute phone call!). I finish work on the 17th, and and planning to have my phone delivered on the 18th (so I am in all day for the delivery) so that gives me just under three weeks to get the number transferred.0 -
Hi, I recently contacted T Mobile customer services as I was due an upgrade on my phone and had 4 weeks left on my contract, I have 2 phones on the contract and was after a replacement for both.
I spoke to a lady who informed me that she could renew my contract and could offer me the phones I was after(samsung s3) at £36 each per month, when I pointed out that 3rd party providers were offering the phones free at £26 per month each with enough minutes, texts, data etc for my needs she simply stated that she couldn't match that. I even mentioned that I had been offered a deal through Vodafone in store at £29 each but she wouldn't budge, even when I asked for my pac codes, she didn't transfer my to retentions but simply provided me with the codes and thanked me for my custom.
I am now the owner of 2 new phones on the Vodafone network and found the staff in store that I dealt with extremely helpful, they were shocked that T mobile didn't offer any concessions, staff at Vodafone even gave me 2 phone cases and a car charger free gratis very happy but very disappointed with T mobile. Oh and by the way if you are armed forces or ex forces Vodafone give you a 20% discount on the tarrif happy days.:rotfl:0 -
I was on Pay As You Go but I want to change to contract as I am using the phone more often. I want to get a Sensation XE. I was looking for little upfront cost and £10 a month.
Is it worth phoning companies to see if they can do this? Most of the replies here are not for new customers. T-Mobile is offer the phone for £10.50 a month but with £200 upfront. I was looking for £100 upfront as it is an old phone. What companies are most flexible?
Or I might get the One X but since many want that I suppose companies want be that flexible. T-Mobile is offering the One X for £19.50 a month. Should I phone O2 or Vodafone to compete the price? Ideally, I would want to lower it to £10 a month with some upfront. Thanks for the help.0 -
Can someone please give me an idiots guide to getting your PAC, porting it to a PAYG and then porting it back when a better pay monthly deal is in place.
Thanks.
PS, have got the PAC from Orange but run out of the 30 days as wasn't sure exactly how to use it and dont want to lose my phone number.:o0 -

My question was "how exactly do I port to a PAYG phone AND THEN port back to a different phone once I have negotiated phone and deal as a new customer.0 -

I guess the easiest way would be to tell Orange you want to switch to PAYG, then when a better deal comes, ask for PAC code, and hey presto.....0
