If you are only between jobs for a few weeks, you could consider staying an extra month with your old supplier, and then when you have a job again, get the best contract deal you can.

If they don't care and your near the end of your contract, take your money elsewhere.
  • Hello,

Does anyone know whether Carphone Warehouse would let me upgrade a bit early?

My contract runs out in December, and I have therefore been given an upgrade date of 17th November.

However, my current phone is really knackered, and is out of warranty (it's almost 2 years old, as the contract I took out with them was almost 2 years ago).

I am with O2, if that makes a difference?

I have been with CPW for at least 12 years!

I was wondering whether it was worth threatening to leave as it's quite near the end of my 2 year contract?

    Thanks :)

If they do let you upgrade early, you won't get a very good deal. Threatening to leave won't do anything and you'll get charged for the remaining 3 months.

Wait until you're in your last 30 days and get a cheap £10 phone to keep you going for a bit if your phone isn't working.
  • What bundle are you one?

It's really silly but I don't know! I will find out though and let you know :)

I must admit I'm really miffed, have called Orange today as am out of contract next month, and every other year they have managed to knock something off my monthly bill as I've been with them for the past 12 years. This year they are only offering me the same as new customers.

Did you want a sim only or were you looking to get a new phone?

Can anyone advise my next move. I renewed with orange a couple of months ago. To keep costs down because they didn't really offer me much, I paid for my samsung handset. I was meant to get 30 photo messages for free and half price insurance, meaning I was paying no more than £18 a month for everything, I wouldn't be going over that limit. However, as happened last time I renewed, they have not added the bundle onto the account and no discounts as agreed. I called to get them to listen to tapes and was told the rep would call me back. Never happened. I put complaint via email. No reply in any way. I sent another complaint, nothing and I called them today and was told a supervisor would call me back, nothing. Where do I stand as my bills are about £10 a month higher and I'm getting less services. Where do I go from here? Sorry if wrong place to ask but cannot afford to be had over, could have gone anywhere for better deal at this rate.
