My bro is on a 18 month contract with 6 months left on vodafone and rang up about upgrading to the SE C905, swiftly told he couldnt upgrade for 5 months
Asked to speak to someone else who and said he had been a loyal customer for 3 years and had been offered a better deal by orange for £30 a month with free C905
Low and behold they matched the offer from orange and gave him the phone for free:T
Im with O2 and decided to try my luck and rang up enquiring about getting a PAC code because vodafone had offered me a good deal plus were offering me the C905 as well.
O2 were prepared to match the vodafone tariff but no phone:mad:
What should i do???? Iv got 6 months left at £40 a month, really want the C905 cause sick of the K850i breaking on me0 -
Contract came to an end thought I would bargain for a better deal from Orange.
After some haggling using the methods outlined on this site, managed to bargain them down to £15 pm, 400 mins, unlimited texts, new phone (Nokia 6500 Slide) and...... wait for it.... I asked, "can I have internet"? To which the guy on the other end replied, "yeah sure, how's evenings and weekends sound", this was the deal clincher for me.
I called Orange about 3 weeks later to clarify the deal as I couldn't see the internet option listed anywhere...they told me this was not included. I argued that the guy (who remembers who they dealt with?? I don't) hadn't made any record of the internet deal so they couldn't do anything because I didn't have enough "points".
Sadly, I didn't check the contract details on paper within the 7 days so now I don't think I have a leg to stand on with regards the internet.
Orange claim no knowledge of it... I feel misled and I feel like kicking myself for not checking the details sooner because I could have sent the phone back and backed out. Now, I have no bargaining power...
Anyone else suffer the same issues???????0 -

Can anyone give any advice for me? I'm planning to call up Orange to try to get a new phone. My story...
I have been with Orange for years, 2x contracts one which has been going for about 8 years and mine which is maybe 3/4 years old. My contract expired around April this year, and without haggling my £35(+£5 for Broadband) a month contract was cut down to £25+5. I was going to be given a new phone SE k850 which i sent back straight away for another SE. I received the wrong one which i asked for but thought i wouldnt bother changing it coz it was ok.
6 Months on and i cant stand the phone i have it constantly cuts out on me, restarts itself and loses signal all the time. I want to call Orange to try to replace this phone with something new thats out like a N96 or similar type phone. Does anyone have any tips of how to go about this? I was going to phone the technical line and say my phone is terrible cutting out all the time. Do you think this is the best idea? I wondered if it might be possible to haggle/extend my contract for a new 18 month one and a new phone. Would they do that do you think?
Can you buy yourself out a cut down contract of £15pm? That would even be cheaper than paying for an unlocked phone?
Any tips of what department to call and what to say?0 -
My mobile contract with O2 was up for renewal recently. I was on a pay monthly contract that offered 1000 minutes and 200 texts for £30.
I don't use my mobile much, only in an emergency, so I said to them that I wanted to move to a pay as you go (PAYG) scheme. After a bit of haggling, and me telling them a few times that I wanted to move to PAYG, they offered me a contract for 600 minutes and 200 texts per month for FREE. The contract is for 12 months and at then end of the 12 months I can leave if I want. Plus they threw in a new phone, because I was "due an upgrade".
Admittedly if I go over the 600 minutes then I pay 20p per minute, but I only use about an hour per month anyway.
It's definately worth haggling with them.0 -
When ringing, is it best to request a PAC code, then explain when they ask, or just ask them for a better deal first?
Also, last year when I told them about a (genuine) better deal elsewhere, they actually advised me to take it from them. Is there a way around this to get it any cheaper?0 -
This isn't a renewal discount, but I though it something worth mentioning.
Basically, I'm tied into an 18 month contract with t-mobile (i'm halfway through). But I'm so sick of the abysmal coverage I get on my phone, in particular in my hosue, that I sent them an email to complain, threatening to leave as I was so dissatisfied.
I received a reply asking to confirm my address and postcode, and, after giving them all my details as confirmation, had my complaint looked into. A week or so later, a man from customer services got back i ntouch to say that they can appreciate my frustrations, that there are areas where the signal is weaker but there are plans to improve this over the next few years (though not necesaarily in my area!). The first thing he suggested was terminating my contract, but this would require me paying off previous discounts I was given by them, and the remainder of the contract, totalling over £200!!
Hopwever, in the last line of the email, he said that, by way of an apology, they would deduct £5 a month off my bill.
I'll probably still leave when my contract is up, as the reception is still awful, but I thought it was interesting that retentions wil lstil ldo what they can to help even when you're midway through a contract...0
