I'm the same phiger - been with Vodafone almost ten years and only had one upgrade in that time. I'm not paying as much as you (Anytime 100) so they will probably try quite hard to keep you. I would go as far as to say that the operator spoke to me in an aggressive way today. I think I must have been really unlucky because when I called last month the guy was really pleasant.

Loyalty? I don't think it exists in their vocabulary.
• Wow well impressed!!!

Bascially ive been with Orange for nearly 6 years.

My contract ended on 26th May i was on the Raccon tarrif 225 mins and 200 text £25 per month but with an additional 200 mins and 200 text (a freebie a nice lady offered me)

Anyway i had been waiting months and months for the Samsung F400 and was told it was finally out so after reading through several posts and Martins tips i prepared myself to do some haggling.

I said i was not happy with what i was paying for... calls and texts that i wasnt even using and that i would be better off on PAUG as soon as she realised i was up on my contract 2 months ago she was asking me ok 'so what do you want'

I replied atleast 600mins and unlimited texts and free internet browsing she then said ok you can have that and the F400 for £20 a month i couldnt believe it  (well chuffed). I then said what about free bluetooth but she was unable to offer anything more anyway it was worth a shot.

I do remember on a previous attempts i was told my banding was too low but that appears to have now been removed and in addition i guess it does depend on who you speak to.

Maybe i could have got an even better deal i dont know but im not complaining!!!:A :A :A :A :A :A :A :A :A :A

Phew!! i thought it was the case tehone.

The phone arrives today so i will have to have a think about what else i should try and get out of them......

As far as I am aware under distance selling (phone or online) they have to offer 7 WORKING days by law, and the first day starts the next working day AFTER you sign for the goods.
• I signed up for an 18 month contract with o2 in December 2007. £35 a month for 600 minutes, 500 texts and 512kb internet. Got a Samsung G600 and an xBox360 from DialAphone.

Was looking on o2's website last week at their latest deals after reading this article and thread and found that you can now get for £35 a month: 600 minutes, 1000 texts and a free Bolt On (several options).

So I gave o2 a call and without question they swapped my tariff straight away and I got an unlimited internet bolt on. No change to when my contract expires, no change to anything apart from the fact I get more for my money now so its worth looking into what the latest deals are for what you're paying now. I was having £50-£60 bills as I kept going over my text allowance (!!) so this is excellent to me and means I will actually be saving money! :j

The lady I spoke to was just lovely, I've always found o2 to be brilliant and I also signed up to broadband and am now paying half the price I was with AOL for the same package and am getting much better customer service!! :money:

• Hi

I have been an Orange customer for well over 10 years. During that time I strayed to the '3' network for a year, which was possibly the worse thing I have ever done. But... thats another story.

Originally, I was on a 500 free text/ 500 free mins contract for £25 p/m. Having noticed a great deal recently, on these pages that T-Mobile were offering it gave me something to barter with. Eventually, I got through to a superior in the office and after saying I wanted to stay with Orange but would be prepared to move depending on the deal offered I was offered the following, which to me was a great improvement and needless to say I am happy with. For now, anyway.

1200 free X-network mins
500 free texts
250 Mb download
Free LG Viewty mobile phone

The contract is for 18 months but considering it's all for £25, including VAT which is a bonus, I am more than happy.

we both signed up for orange £15 a month unlimited texts
and 100 minutes and free upgrade. we have free calls with the magic number to each other as both on orange, is this a good deal?

• Being out of contract, I just tried the above techniques on Orange, except I gave my initial reason for cancelling as my package was too expensive, and was sick of seeing offers for new customers, who would get the same package as me and also receive a 32" LCD TV, or whatever - quite true, and very frustrating (especially when compared to Orange's site offering me just a 10% discount on rental).

My intial package was thrashed down from £35 to £15, and then the guy from Orange (who was a thoroughly nice chap) asked me about new handsets, asking which brands I like. I said HTC. He then offered me a HTC Diamond for a fee, to which I replied (thanks Sheepstar) "No thanks, never mind - I could get an iPhone2 for less than that. Thanks anyhow, can I go through to cancellations please?". I guess you know what's coming - they threw in the phone for free too :)

So that's a phone sold for around £400, for free, on an 18 month contract at £15 a month, where I was paying £35 per month.

Thanks, chaps!

Vodafone - cost saving tip; listen to voice messages free from an internet PC

- Register your vodafone mobile no: for free email at https://www.vodafone.net

- When you have a voice mail you get a notification (either text mesg or a symbol on the phone screen)
- Now login to your registered vodafone email account https://www.vodafone.net (using your reg user name & password )
- you will see your voice mail as an email message from "<phone no>" and "voice message" as subject. (At this point do not try to open the file attachment which is lucent .sbc format file )
- click "My folders" on the left hand side
- now click on "create new main level folder" on the right hand side and give it a name(e.g: voicemessage )
- now go back to the main inbox, select the voice message (tick box) email and "move to" voice message folder.
- go to voicemessage folder using "my folders link" and open the email message
- Now the attachments will show as "wav" format file , which you could open with windows media player.

- Open the file and listen to your voice message - yes, for free.

Cheers
