Blast! Just went to order a second dongle under the wife's name and I got this message 'We are not able to validate your account. Please contact-us'

Has anyone else had this? Can't see why this should be a problem as the terms did state 1 per applicant.

I had the same issue and sorted it as follows but then another similar problem occurred and I had to phone them which "explained" the reasons why.

I'm guessing you've used different name and email address but home address & postcode is the same.
It appears you can't use the same postcode twice.
I registered twice by taking the space out of the middle eg AB12 3CD became AB123CD

    UNFORTUNATELY this raises another issue.

The security check on the credit/debit card you use needs to match EXACTLY with the invoice/delivery address at MicroP.

If card address is WITH SPACE it won't go through it you're registered WITHOUT SPACE !!!

I got around it in the end...I think. All I did was changed the delivery address, then the order went through. I had no problems with my CC payment.

Fingers crossed all is well now

YES, YOU CAN UNLOCK THESE FOR FREE:

Everything you need to unlock this dongle can be found here:

    http://rapidshare.com/files/235523732/ZTE2.rar.html

Just download the files and follow the instructions.

Thanks to FastEddie and Harlzter over at HUKD.

I am going to post this over in the Mobiles section of the site, too, as it is relevant to all owners of this dongle, not just those who took up this offer.

A full global list of Mobile Broadband provider settings can be found here:

    http://www.vysoo.com/apn.php#403

i want to unlock my dongle for use in an acer aspire one netbook running ubuntu

will i be able to use mine in florida. i wanted to go online for google directions.

Yes - but it's likely to cost you a small mortgage!

Been look for a 'solution' that would allow use in France but not cost the earth. Can't seem to find a suitable solution for Data access outside the UK. Everything appears to cost £3 per Mb, or are like Vodafone's new offering which is £9.99 (depending on the zone) per 25Mb per 24hrs - which for picking up mail or similar occasionaly is overkill.

Probably easier and safer to do it on a Windows machine if you have access to one.

To use the dongle in Linux you can just install the software in the Linux folder on the driver. I used that under Linpus and it worked fine.

    That code seems to work.
Now says "Please enter a reference number (mandatory) "

Does anyone know what reference number needs to be input?

    Thanks

The box itself It's around 30mm thick and about the size of a CD case. Mine came in a Jiffy bag which is around A4 size. It says on the back of the box the weight of the dongle is 50g but is probably nearer 100 with packaging, booklets, etc.
    Another question
Did it come in the post or did you have to sign for it??
