Yep.
@Marty I'm not saying it is easy, but facts is facts it went first. Ubuntu didn't. And they were trying. From now on it dont matter what you say my answer will be "pwn2own 2008":rotfl:The day vista beat OSX:eek:. And pwn2own 2009! ouch.

What about Mac OS X do you consider inadequate?
Before you took one line from what I said, read the whole post, I play games on my PC can you run them all on OS X? the short answer is no, you can run emulation which takes power which is just silly or install windows which is then not using osx is it.
So to me that is inadequate to my needs. Make sense?Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

You mean, "the day when someone hacked OS X after spending weeks figuring out how to do it, so they could win a MacBook Air"?
I think my title is catchier.
I guess you didn't hear that it was an open source bit of WebKit that was hacked.Safari was the best backdoor for hackers ever!
There goes your theory of how open source is always more secure, and the next time you claim it is, my answer will be "pwn2own 2008".

I did read the whole post. But OS X not being able to run Windows games doesn't mean it's inadequate, it means it's not Windows.0 -
I did state it is inadequate for what I use a computer for, this is a fact. For most tasks the difference in Vista/OS X can be quite subjective but when it comes to games OS X can't do it. Being the biggest platform does have its uses, yes a lot more virus's etc may be aimed at it, but on the flip side more games are are as well as more programs.
Basically if you are a gamer Mac is not the way forward, luckily for Apple most people want something that looks good and gets them on facebook to which the Mac's are perfect.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

Well it's not that OS X can't play games; if someone writes a game for OS X, it'll work perfectly fine. And of course, you can run Windows on a Mac anyway.
But, I agree with the thrust of what you're saying. If you mostly want to run Windows programs, it doesn't really make much sense to buy a Mac, and gamers are more likely to want to upgrade graphics cards and the like, which isn't really possible on most Macs given their form factor.
Still, I'm sure a Mac Pro with 2 quad core processors, 32 GB of RAM, and three or four graphics cards could run pretty much anything.
You'd be saving up for a while though.

Short and sweet is better. But no ones saying they didn't spend weeks at it. Thats the point though if they can do it so can others. All teasing aside the competition is good because it brings things down to earth.I guess you didn't hear that it was an open source bit of WebKit that was hacked.

I never said its always more secure just that there are far more people than a business can provide looking for security holes.
Besides it would do with how apples integrated it into the browser and is obliviously the easier target since the source code is available. Can you imagine if he'd managed to hack the bit thats propriety? Pretty lazy not to check to see if its secure themselves as well, probably believing their own advertising???0 -
I do think the Mac Vs PC debate now really is down to the OS, hardware they are like for like really, Macs generally look nicer and can have some nice tweak but on a Spec to Spec basis PC's offer better value.
Macs have good build quality where PC is more varied due to many manufacturers, with this you can pay a lot and get 'Mac' build quality or you can save your pennys and get a cheaper machine.
Without going into features of the OS's Windows does support the most software, as mentioned a big killer for many is the lack of Mac support of a lot of PC games.
On a very interesting flip side, it is possible to install OSX on a PC too. Its not simple due to its limited hardware support (part of Mac's strength) but a bit of messing and you can get it going. Meanwhile Vista supports a wide range of hardware and installing on a MAC isn't much of a problem.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

Thats one of my main bug bears with this sort of thing. Its not that Macs dont support PC games its the other way around. The games are written to run on windows, a lot of them directly supported by microsoft. Its hardly apples fault the games industry is little interested in support for macs.
Its the same with hardware issues for linux. People say linux doesn't support certain hardware, neither does windows, its the hardware manufacturers that write the drivers for windows. Most manufacters dont bother writing drivers for linux and therefore the drivers need reverse-engineered, so technically linux does support hardware in a way windows doesn't.0
