sorry has to be done. Someone still hasn't answered my Q so the only thing I can conclude is that they are a brownoser, (u know who I'm talking about here) a bully since they haven't put a single decent comment on here and are just frankly rude and stalked me on another board whilst brownosing his mate looking for an opportuinity to strike. And never answer a Q which he can't make personal as he knos he'll be caught out. DO us a favoour stop being immature and grow up
At least ONW can spell and her grammar is correct unlike yours. Are you sure you are at university?

    To throw my tuppence in...

Asking tutors questions is fine, in fact I encourage it. Getting them to check drafts of essays is wrong, or getting them to check any piece of assessed work (apart from dissertations) is wrong.

You're opening up a huge can of worms if you do that. Having it proof-read professionally is possibly OK, but only possibly, but if you use their amendments it's probably going to be classed as plagiarism. The standard punishment for plagiarism is expulsion and it's really not worth it.

If you use a professional service you're really asking to be expelled.

Depends on the uni - some explicitly allow you to use proof-reading services (to advise on grammar etc., *not* content). Unless dyslexic or similar, you shouldn't really need to, though - getting a friend with good spelling/grammar to proofread for you would be more moneysaving, and ought to be sufficient.

Obviously, you'd want to check your uni's regs before getting someone to proofread the essay - make sure you're not breaking them.

Full-text search in OED online brings up nothing for 'deflamination'. I wondered if annoyed customer meant 'defamation', or possibly 'misrepresentation'.

but then if that is what they meant then the word is still incorrect

defamation is the noun, when they should really have been using an adjective, as in defamatory. e.g "Your post was defamatory"

From my own experience (currently on a Masters degree in a science subject) I have submitted drafts to be marked, but only disstertation type project to supervisors for feedback and advice. From conversations with other people at my university this is quite common?

It was the same for me ( again a science subject) and again only for our final dissertation.

    wow a typo thats clever

No, it is not typos your grammar leaves a lot to be desired, for example it is try to not try and as you put in your post.
I am not having a go but simply pointing out a fact.

Also after looking for deflamation I have on many occasions come by the use of this word, but on all occasions the person was corrected by the replier.

  • you might be a bit nicer now but theres no need for this 'are sure u are at uni' That is a big no, no in a debate as it is personal and therefore rude as one should keep personal things out of it, which I haven't started on here, I just use my right to defend myself. And this forum anit school so I shall not be taking your advice as when it comes to essay time thats when it counts not on the forums

that is a very stereotypical comment from a coward who refuses to answer my questions

What questions? Stereotypical in what way?

And as for stalking, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about!

If you must post in such an illiterate manner then you can't be surprised if people question the reality of your situation.
