Pork meatballs
Finely chop an onion & garlic gently fry in a bit of oil til as done as you like, add any herbs you have & chilli if you fancy spicey. Let cool in a large bowl & add pork mince give it a good seasoning & squidge it all up. Then make loads of meatballs V theraputic. Batch fry them til they have coloured a bit & then add to tomato sauce (can be shop bought) I use home made with hidden veg for kids. Cook for half an hour & serve with pasta, rice or anything really they are yummy :beer:0 -
I make this for my DH who loves it. I believe it's one of Queenies recipies.
Fry the pork mince with onion & add some gravy (I just use Bisto) as if you were making shepherds pie. Put it in an ovenproof dish & top it with potato pastry (just buttery mashed potato with flour mixed through) & bake untiil golden.
He thinks it's really good. (I don't eat meat so I wouldn't know)

Pork and apple burgers are my fave ones, yummy!!!
There was a recipe in the mag I was reading in bed last night (exciting life I have you know!!) which they used a muffin tray, lined each with streaky bacon add some sausage meat (you could use pork mince) mixed with a little worcestershire sauce into the mould and then they topped with mashed potato then cheese then baked in the oven. Ok not the exact recipe but you get the idea? They looked lovely, like little pies without the pastry. I'm going to try them...hmmm might have to alter meal planOne day I might be more organised...........

I'd like some inspiration in using pork mince for something other than just plain old meatballs please
I also have leeks, onions, garlic, celery, a green pepper and some mushrooms in the fridge, as well as the usual storecupboard staples. I'm open to any and all suggestions
Thankyou! :A“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
They're still a bit basic, but I can do you recipes for minced meat as Bolognese Sauce (if you've got tinned tomatoes), Chilli Con Carne (if you've got chilli powder & kidney beans) or Cottage/Shepherd's Pie.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Hi chameleon,
This older thread should help so I've added your post to it to keep all the suggestions together.

Pork mince is less than half the price of beef mince here, so I bought some!!! I was thinking maybe doing stuffed peppers with it, but not sure what else to do. Any ideas anyone??0

Pork and apple burgers? Pig-sty Pie (cottage pie but with minced pork instead)? Pork meatballs?
Basically I'd use it exactly the same as I would beef mince - maybe using slightly different herbs and making sure that it's really thoroughly cooked.0
