I don't think it's any sort of dodgy going on from TNS somehow... why would they want us to cancel jobs on them? Surely they'd rather we did the jobs, so if there was to be any messing they'd hold off with the cancel feature until after the jobs were done so people couldn't cancel them so easily - in the hope we'd all not be bothered to email AMs and just do the jobs anyway...
No you're right that if the jobs are real (which I'm sure they are) they wouldn't want us to cancel them. In theory though a company could post a whole batch of fictional jobs and then change the brief so that the shoppers themselves would press the cancel button. It's just my imagination running wild:D

My opinion of TNS has definitely plummeted over this whole scenario. I hope they appreciate the time we have all wasted selecting these jobs and reading the briefing notes.

How long does it usually take for BARE to score reports? I did my first two for them this week and want to know if they liked them! :p

I think i'd just say something like "the salesman was very helpful and offered alternative options" rather than quoting exactly what he said word for word in that case ;)

My opinion of TNS hasn't plummeted, I hope this was a one off oversight. I usually find they are fair, uncomplicated and helpful and are one of my three favourite companies. I am hoping that the usual standards will resume . I haven't known them to have such a big difference between the invitation and the brief before (correct me if I am wrong, I haven't been with them a year yet!). They haven't merged with RE have they???

I've got my first actual "visit" tomorrow (I've done a couple of phone calls only so far). A joint visit to a cinema. Very nervous especially as I'm taking a complete Mystery Shopping newbie friend with me as well!

Seems I have to visit 4 counters to buy all sorts of things. Any tips on how to discreetly note all the different things down that they want, or a good place to hide to do it? And any other advice or tips?

    Thanks :)

:D nice one! It's a bit like the petrol job I did yesterday. I asked if there was a loo I could use and the SA said " yeah, it's over there. Mind you, it isn't up to much, but if you're desperate I suppose it is ok!" :rotfl: She wasn't wrong either . Whenever I get comments like that I find myself cringing inside and saying to myself " no no noooo, don't say that, I've got to do a report on you" :o

No-one usually bats an eyelid if you type notes into your phone, it just looks like you're texting :D

    I'd disagree with you there.:o
I would state what the salesman had said, since it is relevant to the company which is paying for this mystery shop. I would probably put something about appreciating honest approach and (if appropriate) mentioning other positive aspects of the service.

That's exactly what I was thinking of doing! :D Is it worth keeping notes about what I'm meant to be doing saved there as well? :)

I keep being sure I'll mess it all up :(
