Has anyone done the ABAi visit to a specific counter within the catalogue shop? I did one last month where the counter wasn't there and just left so didn't get paid. I have one this weekend and, again, I don't think it has that specific counter.

Can you phone the store to ask if they have the counter? If you can do a strange accent it would be even better......
Sorry was beaten to it by duchy, note to self need to learn to type faster....lol
Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can :(

Brilliant idea but sadly Rainham doesn't have it. We're a bit backward here in Kent <sigh>

Is this any good to you?

Failing that you could ring the store and pretend you are looking for directions... say, "Are you next to xxx?" for example.

I did one where there was a display area for the products but no counter. I just joined the main queue at the checkout and made my enquiry there. It was a bit of a farce but at least I got paid for it. Presumably all of the shops will still sell that type of product even if they don't have a designated counter (because they are in the catalogue).

Hi hope everyone has sorted the bank phone jobs. I would never had agreed if that was the original scenario.

I have a couple of other questions I hope someone can help with...

    1. When completing a TNS report how long until you can expect payment ?

    2. I have a 'green' supermarket tomorrow (1st big supermarket and a bit scared but will try it!) From experience is it better to pretend to text when noting names/ descriptions as I have to remember 7 names/descriptions. Do you think the staff will get suspicious if I walk around the store and speak to 7 people ? If I dont text and use paper (pretending it is a shopping list) don't you think this may look even more suspicious ?

Any more tips would be greatly appreciated ! Many Thanks.

I usually have my little notepad/shopping list sat on top of my bag in the trolley (or in my pocket), so it's easy to get at. Then after I've asked the question, walk round to the next aisle or so, and jot down the notes. It just looks like you are checking things off a shopping list. Oh, and try to make sure you are not standing right under the security camera when you do it!!!!:rotfl:

I don't think the staff take that much notice of what customers are doing - in my experience they are always busy with something so I think we're ok as long as we don't actually scribble our notes down right in front of them!

You might want to work out some abbreviations for the descriptions. I write the name in full in my notebook but then write med bld (medium build), sht brn hair (short brown), etc. It's really not as daunting as you might think, and you'll probably find you can remember the description when you get home even if you didn't write it down.

I have just joined a RE gym too, did one eighteen months ago and no problem with the refund of the fees, just remember to cancel by 17th of next month.

I have also just picked up a flight with Bare - OH is really p***** with me!

    Cheers Paul

Thanks for pointing that out. Am now going to have to release job as there's no way I can act out that scenario when they have my bank details in front of them. Can't even say I might be made redundant as I'm a SAHM!

Edit - have just fired off email to AM explaining my reasons for cancelling (is it just co-incidence that they added the automatic feature today??). Lets see what response we all get...
It does seem a very big co-incidence with them just introducing the cancel feature today. Surely they are not testing their new system in this way:eek: It's backfired anyway as we are all emailing the AMs telling them exactly what we think:rolleyes:

I don't think it's any sort of dodgy going on from TNS somehow... why would they want us to cancel jobs on them? Surely they'd rather we did the jobs, so if there was to be any messing they'd hold off with the cancel feature until after the jobs were done so people couldn't cancel them so easily - in the hope we'd all not be bothered to email AMs and just do the jobs anyway...

Thanks for the help with abai, I'll take my camera with me to photo the receipt, then take the goods back.

I have just caught up with the thread (for the last couple of days-still got a weeks worth to read tho!) and read the brief for the bank jobs on TNS. I will also be emailing my AM tomorrow to ask him/her to de-allocate. Asking for a balance is one thing, which I am happy to do, but I am not going to put myself in the position of telling my bank I am in difficulty when I am not (despite using their overdraft!). It is not worth the possible consequences.
