I don't know if you guys have 'last working day' salaries, but I was last paid 26th Feb and that was such a long time ago! I've just bailed out DS2, again, and our joint account is looking at a rather perilous level. I'm determined not to touch the overdraft. I've done grocery shop online and it is coming today, and there is enough money in it to pay for that, but nothing else  so we'll have to be very careful over the next 7 days. I had hoped that I would be able to transfer £300+ to the mbna card at the end of the month but that's just not going to happen - but then we've given/lent the youngsters an additional £370 between them and paid £150 for the pc so its easy to see where the money has gone. I'm really unsure what to do with the mbna balance, which can't be cleared in the next few weeks - although it will be at least halved again by then when I get repaid expenses, paid for additional hours etc.
On a much more positive note I managed to list 9 things at the weekend on the ebay free listing day. I also had a look at Amazon - its so easy!!!!! - and listed 2 books and 2 cds - of which 1 book and 1 cd has sold already! Amazing! The fees are quite a bit higher for Amazon but in terms of getting money for something I don't think would even have sold on ebay, and effort required, it was fab!

i'm lucky in that my salary is the 28th or the working day before that if it's on a weekend, but my OH's is the last friday which can make for very long months, especially as he gets paid either four or five weeks and we're never in the know of how many week's he'll get paid at any stage. It's very frustrating.0

My working weeks have moved from their normal pattern to encompass some meetings, and I'm taking some A/L before the end of the financial year - net result is I'm not working again until 7th April woo hoo!
I've got no major plans for that time, and I feel so tightly wound I think it will take me a couple of days to completely chill. I've already had a worry and had a look at my work emails this morning - what's that about?!!
Today I've done laundry/tidy round/banks/comps/clicks etc (all ok no surprises). I am meeting a friend for lunch, also want to:
Finish 2 MS now I've been refunded for the items bought and returned. Had another thing come - so have completed and submitted 3
Take Amazon parcel to post office (missed post yesterday as meeting went on to 5.55!)
Put all work stuff away where I can't see it! done
Hoover downstairs done - and dusted (literally)
Change dentist appointment as I now have to work on the day its booked done
Check we have some compost so I can plant DigIt seeds this weekend
See if I can find some sunflower seeds Got compost, but no seed trays or little pots... I think OH has had a clear out  . No sunflower seeds.
Ummm... not sure what else! Have cleaned sides in utility and had smelly candle burning in downstairs loo to remove smells of stinky cat litter. Changed sheets on our bed too... now I'm off to post Amazon parcel, and meet friend for lunchthen will come home and make scrummy lentil bolognese for tea and surprise OH!
Have a good day all

enjoy your days off, it's funny how you almost have to concentrate on not thinking about work as much as you do have to concentrate about actually working sometimes isn't it.0

Hi Cbm
Just catching up with your diary. Lucky you having all that time off work. I love having time off to catch up with stuff in the house. I've booked a week off at the end of May to do this. Only been back at work from hols 5 days and I'm ready for a break already! At least Easter is bringing two 4 day weeks to look forward to. Enjoy your time off - don't work too hard!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
I had lovely lunch with my friend, she was on her lunch break, neither of us was wearing a watch and we sat and talked for 1 3/4 hours!!! Luckily she is the boss... hope the uber boss or the minions weren't taking note :rotfl:
I popped into Morissons to get cat litter and jaffa cakes (on offer) and beans (on offer) on the way back, and posted the letter.
I'm just debating whether to curl up on the sofa with a book, or dust of the card making stuff and make cards - my Gran's birthday is coming up and I've depleted the stock of ones that were there 'in case' by not making any since christmastime. Whyowhy do I have a guilty feeling - perhaps I should do Rosemary Conley video first

I survived the rest of yesterday without checking up on work emails - result!
So far today I've tidied, clicked, checked banks etc; some of the expenses were in the bank so I took a deep breath and transferred to the CC, deep breath because I am worried about how close we're getting to the overdraft. I decided that if I don't transfer it we'll probably spend it though - so went for it.
91.3% paid off now
I need some help with garden type things. OH had binned all the pots / seed trays etc   :lipsrseal, and when I asked about them he went to Asda and bought a whole load more (and if he used the joint account I shall be quite miffed because of the overdraft... ), but he's bought different things.
I've got seeds for carrots, courgettes, lettuce, french beans, and basil from DigIt, spinach from M-I-L, and I'd also like to find some sweet pea and sunflower seeds.
OH bought 3 x 'propogater sets' - with 40 little 'plugs' in each one, :rotfl:, and, 3 sets of little tiny pots in a tray, and some bigger peat pots. What am I best off putting where - and shouldn't some of this stuff get planted straight outside? I've probably got some excess capacity there now lol.
Cheers

Friday, and I'm getting used to not being at work
.
Have done banks, clicks etc, all ok - we just need to manage to payday on Weds now. I've been paid from edigital but it will take a few days for the cheque to clear.
Today I'm waiting in for a delivery and collection from HDN, more stuff for mystery shops but one of the places I 'had' to buy from had some real bargains at the time, really pretty christmas decs, a bath set, and tape measure thing for a pound or less so I ordered to keep rather than send back, and I'm looking forward to it turning up.
As I'm stuck at home today I thought I'd get the card-making stuff out and make some cards, first time this year, which I'm also looking forward to. I did Rosemary Conley last night video but might have another go at it today rather than spend the entire day sitting around. Then there is the ironing, possibly; funnily enough that doesn't excite me in quite the same way:rotfl:.
I also need to do some research and work out how to plant the seeds - or indeed if I need to do it yet. BBC website is probably a good starting point .
