Well done on your new total Cbm!:TI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

well done for getting your total so low and being able to see the end of the tunnel.
Milann we almost bought my dad one of those garden train sets, turned out a good job we didn't as my parents moved shortly after to somewhere with shared gardens and unfortunately my dad is about 90% blind now so wouldn't be able to use it.0 -
Oh my god!!!!! Look at your balance:j:j:j:j that's great newsProud to be dealing with my debt:eek:
TOTAL: £6,437 (04/01/2013) slowly but surely it is decreasing:D0 -
Thats pretty good going £700 left - what was it at it's worsed total - bet that seems a long way away nowJanuary spends - £587.580

£700 down from over £15K Milann! Thanks all - I still can't quite believe its down to 3 digits (from 5 digits )
I spent most of yesterday doing mystery shops & surveys - very tedious but hopefully profitable.
We also had groceries delivered yesterday (as part of a mystery shop) from a rather wonderful place - I'm not allowed to name under the terms and conditions of the mystery shop, its quite expensive and I'd never shopped there before. It was lovely, all packed well and separated into fridge / freezer / cupboard etc, and looked like excellent quality! The delivery driver was lovely. Made me feel like a bit of a princess! Actually some of the prices of their own brand stuff were not bad. Their minimum delivery is £50, so I spent £52. I shopped on Wednesday in Morissons for some bits I wanted before the shopping came. Went into Asda on Thursday for easter eggs... and then Sainsburys to get some things that I refused to pay the prices for in this other place (whole free range chicken, fizzy water etc) so thats 4 supermarkets in 3 days - some sort of a record I think! Just need a tesco & co-op today... just kidding
I'm hoping we'll get out for a walk today having been cooped up yesterday. I got woken early by the cats - they're a bit like babies, they'll sleep in the morning if you make sure they have a good supper and obviously last night they didn't, so having fed them, I've done banks, clicks etc so now am raring to go!
I finished reading 'to kill a mockingbird' - a couple of days ago - I'd forgotten how good it is, probably last read it 25 years ago - so need to find a new book. I had an Amazon voucher for christmas so might do some shopping - although I'm a bit shopped out after all those grocery shops:rotfl:
Have a good weekend...

Don't think I've ever read To kill a Mockingbird - I vaguely remember going to the pictures with school as our Christmas treat one year to see the screen version and to see Greyfriars Bobby another year. For some reason this was instead of a Christmas party ????????????? Sorry I digress!!!!
Mystery shop sounds good - do you get refunded the cost of the food you bought?
MilannJanuary spends - £587.580 -
Mystery shop I get paid for doing it which off-sets some of the cost, but no not for all the food - now that would be money-saving!
Yesterday was a really bleak day here with wind and rain so didn't get outdoors, just pottered around inside. I put the compost in the little pots ready for the seeds and watered and... the water just sat there so I gave it time to soak in. Who knew that planting seeds was so very complicated!! I will plant the seeds this morning though, and hopefully also go outside to plant salad and carrot seeds in new raised bed :j.
Nothing much on the money front to report - clicks / banks all fine. DD has returned the money she borrowed at the beginning of March. I spent £2.10 on a book on ebay - 10p on book and £2 on postage - makes you wonder how they make any money at all. My ebay auctions finish this afternoon then having a week off as DS1 is coming home tomorrow and I'm going to put all the stuff away while he's here (it lives in his bedroom). I haven't seen him since September and I'm really looking forward to it. DD is coming home on Thursday so we'll all be under one roof again :T:T.
Off for a shower now DH is up (didn't want to disturb him)

I thought I'd just do a quick update I'm waiting for the breadmaker to ping so I can get the bread out before going to bed!
DS1 & 2 are both here and both well, although everso tall! DD is home tomorrow. I'm hoping we'll all go out and do family things on Friday and poss Saturday too.
I had a fab fortnight off - planted my seeds, got raised bed sorted etc, read 4 books, made cards - just did lovely things really! Unfortunately I was back at work today - all the catching up is just horrible.
Money wise all ok, I've done quite a lot of mystery shops so if they all get okayed in time that will be an extra £200 this month :j and £150 to come from job #2. I've had a letter from the council offering me the job of poll clerk in the election (I did it last time) which is £175 minus tax - although that will probably be paid after the debt-free-day which feels a bit weird!
We went in to talk abou the mortgage yesterday, some of it is on interest only and has endowments that are not going to do their stuff, so we've had to increase our payments which is a bit of a pain . At least we know now not when it finishes in a few years.
Breadmaker has gone ping - bedtime!

Hi Cbm - just catching up. Glad you enjoyed your time off work, it does you good to spend some time away doesn't it? I can see that total sneaking down again - well done! We have two endowments on our mortgage. One is on track and finishes next month (yipee!) which will pay a chunk off the mortgage and give us a lump sum but unfortunately the other one is not on track at the moment to pay off the balance but it still has another 7 years to run so hopefully it will catch up. Wish we'd taken out a repayment mortgage all those years ago but it's endowments that were pushed at you in those days.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Yes endowments were 'the thing' way back then weren't they SA. Our endowments have 5 years to run and there is a really big shortfall so I'm glad we've fixed it. OH has been saying for the last year we need to do something but I think it would have been too much to try and sort out the debt and the endowment say 18 months ago when things were really grim. At the end of the day we're going to be paying less than £100 quid a month extra by doing this conversion to repayment so I think it is all going to work out.
Money-wise not a lot going on, I got my travel expenses into the bank from job #2 from the day's training I did so have paid those off, another little step in the right direction.
Today we're going fossil hunting at the beach with the 3 children - first time we've all been together for months! Then to the in-laws for dinner.
Cheers
