the body of the sofa has been covered, but the cushions haven't progressed any further, had planned to make a start on sunday and things got in the way, but my dad's worth it do i don't mind, but i will be starting again soon as i'd love to see them finished and the quilted curtains.

I have a question..... can anyone tell me where all my time is going? i've got an endless to do list both at home and work and i don't seem to be getting anywhere with either and then i look up and it's past my bed time and i wake up tired to the bones to start all over again.

Lemon tree - there must be a phantom time stealer about cos the same is happening to me LOL

I haven't even thought about a card for valentines yet - I should make one but will probably run round to Morrisons on Saturday - not the idea I know - maybe I've just shamed myself into making one!!

you're certainly right milann, we're fast approaching the busiest time of my year at work - 'year end!', sorry for swearing everyone. and i'm starting to panic as there's so much to do and i keep being asked to do loads of stuff for the project team which at the moment are deciding how to save loads of money aka who's gonna lose their job.
  • I'm just back from a meeting the other side of the county, which was a pleasant drive without the snow. I thought I'd have some porridge for lunch - healthy warming etc, but it overboiled all over the microwave so ended up with a quarter portion and a mess. So I had some chocolate upside down pudding out of the fridge to make up for it - leftovers from Sunday. I think its called decluttering?! I thought I'd have half an hours 'lunch' before going back to work. Today is going slowly.
Valentine's is a bit of a pain isn't it. I would like to do what you've done, Turfy6 and be lovey dovey rather than fall for the hype. I got OH some cheeses as a present - not sure how romantic a present that is lol.

All is ok here, still plodding on with 10p scratchies and selling [STRIKE]useless bits of junk[/STRIKE] treasured family heirlooms for 99p a pop on ebay. My confession is that I've also bought a couple of things on ebay. A tupperware box for crackers - as it matches the biscuit box in size and will be perfect in the cupboard, 2 tupperware soup cups that can go in the microwave etc, the adapter for my ipod, and a Tiefling (D&D character). Total spent is about £20, and I've got about £40 to come from ebay.
We've got a quiet weekend planned, no training or vol work thankfully. If I can still get tickets we're going to go to a poetry thing on Sunday evening which I saw and surprisingly OH agreed to go to. I would rather do that than go out for a rip-off meal.
Hope all is well out there.. and you find some time this weekend LT & Milann.

Hi Cbm - just catching up with your diary. Hope you enjoyed your poetry evening. OH and I got each other a small bottle of perfume for Valentines - we chose our own. So why am I thinking I wish he got me flowers instead? Never satisfied am I?
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • The poetry evening was great, I'm not sure how much OH enjoyed it really though, but he put on a brave face. :smileyhea I think deep down he'd have preferred a 3-course meal! I gave him a hamper of smelly cheeses, which he's really enjoying, and he gave me a Professor Layton game for my DS, which is fun!
Yesterday was a funny day, I felt really tired and low, had 3 different meetings to go to and found it really hard to get going in the house and did not go to body balance as - well - no excuse really.
I did a MS where I had to buy something and then return it and the shop are really messing me about; I first called 3 weeks ago for them to pick it up and when I called yesterday they said that the paperwork had not gone through properly! We've still got the stupid thing in the garage and I won't get my refund until its sorted. Wednesday week the courier is coming, apparantly. That fuss really didn't help yesterday. They don't know its a MS of course, and can't, but if it wasn't I'd have written and complained.
I have withdrawn my ebay winnings from paypal so hope to have some money to add to the balance later this week. Otherwise its waiting for the MS money - and salary which is next week. I'm not sure there's much to come off the balance in the next fortnight, as I don't think I'm being paid for any extra hours this month.
    Onwards and upwards!

    Banks and clicks done
Will try and get to body balance
Washing is in the washing machine so need to try and get it dry
Will list the items for this week's sale on a word doc as they don't allow turbo booster on free ebay listing days - spoilsports!
Need to tidy the study again
Whole load of admin for vol work - I might savour that this afternoon :rotfl:

    Cheers all

  • Hi CBM

Hope you're feeling a bit more cheery today? It's horrible when you have one of those days isn't it.

We've got a similar problem to your MS with a TV we bought last January for DDs room it has been replaced once, had regular visits from maintenance men and has been in the workshop for a fortnight and it still doesn't work properly!! Repair man coming again tomorrow and unless he reports that it needs replacing the saga will continue. OH is home tomorrow so he can deal with it and hopefully have more success than me.

I still haven't booked my hotel in Paris but the time stealer has been visiting me as well!!!

Must get on now have finished my coffee and need to get a report written up.

    have a good day.

  • Hi all
Not a lot to report really, things just tick away!
The computer that I use that got spyware a couple of weeks ago I haven't been able to clean, and yesterday it became unusable, so its gone to the shop - fingers crossed it is repairable and won't cost too much! I'm having to use DH's laptop, and it doesn't have all my favourites saved.
The house looks like a bomb site, probably reflecting my brain at the moment - too much going on and nothing finished / organised! There is so much I want / intend to do - ebaying, admin for vol work etc, and just not enough hours in the day.
Hopefully I'll be able to make some headway later; tea is a very simple veg crumble reheated from a couple of days ago. And tomorrow night we're going to a local pantomime with some friends.

    Cheers all

the time stealer has been here as well CBM. Work is very hectic and we're building up to our busiest time of the year, I've emailed the people on the allotment committee in the hope that they will give me some space to actually achieve something and i've just joined the gym, with my induction on weds so i will be there a couple of times a week.
Unfortunately like yourself my place is a tip/bomb site and again i think it's reflecting my brain. I keep finding that i'm sleeping like a log yet spend the whole day yawning and feeling tired. Think i need to start sleeping like a bunny or something cos they seem to always wake up all happy and bouncy and i can't remember the last time i woke up like that.
