We've got a "spending" card which gets paid off in full by direct debit every month but although we always manage to find the money to clear it, we really need to have the money before we spend it, if you get my drift. The first thing I'm going to do once I'm debt free is to work on getting this sorted otherwise I'm in real danger of ending up back in debt.
I agree with you Cbm about ebay. You think you've done well until you see what's left after everyone has taken their cut and then you think was it worth all that effort?
I can see why the cc would be a worry. I love your sentence that starts 'the first thing I'm going to do once I'm debt free'..... *starts dreaming*.....Jan 08: Debt £15,211  Debt cleared April 30th 2010Proud to have dealt with my debt! I'm working from home again today, 3rd and final day of the week so looking forward to tomorrow!
All is well with the banks, 50p from scratchie again :T and one of this weekend's ebay items has a 2nd bid on it... its now (drum roll) £1.40
I need to pop out to the post box at lunchtime - I hope it will stop raining by then, and I'm hoping to go and see 'the girls' this evening - but in a house so NSD again. Tea is lentil bolognese - I made double last week and its in the freezer, so that's easy.
The only interesting thing today is that when I got on the scales this morning, the needle was the other side of the line - not a 'proper' loss you understand, but definitely a move of the needle. I thought the scales were broken as they haven't moved (down) for months, so I was really (and somewhat disproportionately) pleased. Personally I blame Sun Addict - I think her diary has scared my metabolism into action :rotfl:
Have a good day all

NSD for you too today!!!
I would be delighted if the needle went to the left of the line but I don't get on the scales very often - too scary.
Hope you have a good time with "the girls".

Enjoy the girlie time and good news on that needle moving - even if only slightly.
I'm hoping when I go on my wii fit on Saturday it has nice things to say to me. It reccommends a weigh and fitness test every day but I don't want to get into a weigh-in every day. I'm happy to do the exercises daily but am trying to be disciplined with a weekly weigh-in. I know if it told me too often I stay the same or put weight on I'd pack it in.
I have never managed to get my head around the photos for ebay. If only I could get past the techno-fear I'm sure I could find some bits to sell - although I have already decluttered a lot over the last few years. I admire you keeping at it CBMJanuary spends - £587.580 -
things have been going a bit skewy for me this month, went on a diet and gained weight! and i've been spending again so next month is going to be squeaky tight again, but at least i WILL be below £20k!0

Yesterday when I wrote in the diary I was a bit fed up and felt a little bit bored. This is a mistake!
Since then:
I had a message from one of the ebay buyers saying I'd sent them the wrong parcel - aaaaaaaaaaargh - so the 3 99p items I posted, where the postage cost more (but was paid for by the people), is going to cost me even more as I pay for the items to get posted on. Not very MSE. At this stage I don't know if its a 2-way muddle or a 3-way muddle; I think that I must have muddled the labels coming out of the printer.
And
The computer I use has become infected with 'Windows Defender 2010' - a nasty piece of malware that keeps telling you that you've got viruses (its trying to sell me a programme). I can't get on the internet with it with IE, although can with firefox, and have tried 2 programmes that people recommend to get rid of it but no joy so far. I'm writing this on OH's laptop but looks like the day will be spent fighting a computer. Have done banks and will do other bits on this machine first, then go to the gym, then tackle pc.
Reckon its best not to feel impatient when life is boring.....

Hi Cbm - sorry to hear about things going wrong for you. I hate it when that happens. Give me a boring smooth running life anytime! Re the weight loss - glad I scared your metabolism! I come in useful sometimes. Wish I was one of those people who could eat whatever they want and don't exercise much but 5'1" + tiny frame = hard work staying slim!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Oh it was such a carp day yesterday. I didn't get to the gym, got distracted by the pc and missed the class. PC is not mended - although I've found a way to contain the malware and work with it. I just didn't feel 'together' all day. I haven't heard back from the other people who were sent the wrong ebay things, the light went in the lounge, DD sent her personal statement through (due yesterday, finished at about 11pm), DS1 gave his new employer the wrong bank account number so his wages have gone to someone else (can he get them back??), and DS2 has spent nearly £300 in the 11 days he's been back at uni and is skint.:eek::mad:
Then, OH came home and asked if I was premenstrual (grr - I probably am but surely that's irrelevant?!) and ended up going to the shop to get fresh pasta and sauce for tea, and came back with four bars of chocolate (as well as some pasta). Double grrrr!
The only thing I managed to do was get 5 items uploaded to ebay, for the week after next, and to keep two appointments for training assessments (voluntary work).
And then this morning the alarm didn't go off, we overslept...... OH was late to work.
CBM drawing a line under yesterday :

So moving onwards to today....
Scratchy, banks etc done, got last salary from job #2 which I've paid to MBNA. Accounts updated.
For the rest of the day:
I will get to Body Balance !!!!
Admin from yesterday's assessments
Tidy and clean kitchen - OH left it in a bit of a state this morning
Finish MS paperwork
Prepare for training course I'm delivering on sunday (vol work)
Make something scrummy and nutritious for tea
Make loaf of bread
Cheers all
Cbm
Edited to add - all done! Just need to double check that all the copying is done for the course on Sunday. Vegetable crumble in the oven and feeling mellow!Jan 08: Debt £15,211  Debt cleared April 30th 2010Proud to have dealt with my debt! Reasons to be cheerful - there's three:
1) I did get to body balance and didn't get fined for booking class yesterday but not turning up
2) +ve feedback from one of the ebayers, so parcel muddle involved 2 peeps and not 3 (still bad, but not as bad)
3) Received cheque from edigital for the MS I did recently - just over £200 :T. Will try and pay that in tomorrow then that will be more money off the card middle of next week when it has cleared.
Now I need to hang onto those thoughts and not give into hormonal urges to curl up on sofa with chocolate....Jan 08: Debt £15,211  Debt cleared April 30th 2010Proud to have dealt with my debt! Currently building up savings.:TWith enormous thanks to everyone on the forums and:money:0
