  • Hope you enjoyed the film - which one was it?

We haven't got snow yet have you? I've just sent OH out for some milk just in case the forecast is right and we do get snow tonight. I don't like driving when it's icy I don't even like walking when it's all frozen because I do this silly walk.

with my lack of motivation at the moment i'm not even sure that posting my to do list here would even get me off my backside. :(
i also hate having to fill up, and i've got to do it weekly so you have my sympathy.

More to the point did you make enough hobnobs to last in case you are snowed in?:D

  • Morning all!

Lots of snow here this morning, I had a meeting (voluntary work again) on the other side of town which I've cancelled so looks like a day at home. Living in Somerset we don't often see snow so its very strange and the kids are out in the estate having fun :T:T

The film last night was great, it was 'up in the air' with George Clooney, very funny although a bit close to home at times (lots of people being made redundant:eek:).
Catspaw I didn't make hobnobs last night, but you can relax as they're firmly on the agenda for this morning. The other thing in my mind is decluttering my wardrobe :eek::eek: which is in a real state, particularly things that have been shoved in at the bottom. I'm building up to an ebay fest this weekend (joy of joys - not) and wanted to get the real grot spots around the house before that.

Lem - filling up each week sounds like a chore. Up until a year ago I worked a fair way from home and had to do that too, one of the best bits about working locally and at home is the reduction in petrol. Teenagers though, seem to have no concept of petrol, although I think DS2 puts a fiver in the car when he is going a long way. I get very stressed when it is in the red.

    Have a good day all

    mmmmmmmm hobnobs mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
that reminds me, was supposed to nip to post office.

Got to ask: do you have much success selling in Ebay? and is it hard?

Hey, just notice the credit comment you've put : Nice one on clearing the overdarft!!!

  • The hobnobs are scrummy, Catspaw. Maybe just a little too scrumy!

I do not really enjoy ebaying, but I guess not many people do it 'for fun'! I sell junk that I don't want to throw out, so it really helps with decluttering. I haven't done it for months, but am planning to start again this weekend - need the extra pennies. I don't think I made enormous sums of money, but ebaying 6-10 items a week led to £50 payouts every month or so. I quite enjoy watching things sell! You asked if I thought it was 'hard' - and that depends what you mean by hard. If you mean difficult (like learning sums at school - brain-ache) then no it is not at all. If you mean difficult (like cleaning the filter on the washing machine - really can't be bothered) then yes it is very hard! I'm focusing on ridding the house of useless tat and trying to replace the BB income!

    Cheers all

  • I've just sold a couple of Monsoon items on Ebay - these always go well. I have done quite well with Amazon since Christmas - it's a lot less hassle no photos etc.

As you say CBM £60 or so a month is useful.

The homemade Hobnobs are far too nice!!

I think it's going to be another very cold day tomorrow - i wonder what the roads will be like?

  • Well done on your sales PBH - I'm building up a pile of stuff - just need the motivation now.

I'm a bit - well actually very - miffed with Bingo Britain. You may know there were a few changes of policy over Christmas when the owner responded to what was probably an invasion from MSE and other sites with people taking advantage (no other words for it really) of their offer. Emails were sent out to all customers, and since then I have not broken their rules about depositing to withdraw. However, when I've won and not been in the mood or had the time to carry on playing I've bought bingo tickets for the future, and when I won £15 the other day I cancelled some of (not all) the bought bingo tickets to make it up to £21 which I could withdraw. This has resulted in BB cancelling my daily bonus (I actually only had a few days left) and the withdrawal is pending so I don't think I'm going to get that either. This doesn't seem fair, as what I did was according to the rules. (although I agree I broke them at the beginning of December). Having said that I've had quite a fun time playing bingo, and have made some money from it - I had a stonkingly good win a few weeks ago. Perhaps its as well that we're now on 'bad terms' - I won't be tempted to carry on if I win from the bit of money that is still in there (future tickets bought with winnings); believe me I'll withdraw anything over £20 immediately!

    Sorry for the rant!

Its nearly the end of my Christmas holiday - I'm glad I took an extra week of A/L!

    Today's jobs:

    [STRIKE]
Declutter games cupboard - ebay / charity any that aren't going to get used again[/STRIKE] Done - also sorted out a pile for nephew and niece.
[STRIKE]Go through food cupboard - right to the back  . If I'm not back on this site by tomorrow - there isn't a back and I'm in some Narnia world of 1/4 bags of pasta. Gulp.[/STRIKE] Done. Shame there isn't an ebay market on 2005 trifle mixes. And we don't need to by pasta or bisto for the forseeable future!

I really must get out of the house, at least a walk up the road would do me good I think.

Also - how could I forget about the ironing!!!

That looks quite managable today. I was meant to be working but the meeting got cancelled.

    Cheers all
