  • £120 and £100 is brilliant isn't it! Just goes to show though, if that had been 'real' money 30 days at £5, twice, is £300 - anyone playing bingo with their own money would have lost £80 - I need to remember that if temptation sets in!

Did you get any daft presents?

I get some sort of hideous ornament EVERY year from someone - this year I pre-empted by saying I'd quite like to collect the Lilliput Lane houses - small, quite pretty and I've got a little shelf that they can go on. Hint was taken and I recieved 3 from that branch of family - I was quite pleased ......buuutttttt.... think dh got the ornament originally meant for me - A BLOOMING BIG chef on a bike like a wine hollder - not a clue what I'm going to do with it - probably a trip to the charity shop along with a brass cannon, hideous pink glass paperweight, 3 hideous glass bottle stops......I've sent in previous years. I'm soooo tempted to tell said person not to bother anymore as we don't even see each other - just pass on via mil - but it would cause so much agro with my 88 year old mil - think I'll have to go with it for now LOL

Like the idea of snapping a match in half to stop things happening in 3's

Have a healthier, wealthier and a happy new year cbm and everyone else

  • Hmmm, great idea to drop a hint about future presents, early enough that no one else (in our household at least) will get brussel sprout barbecuer or some other weird gadget! :rotfl:

I've just done the accounts and the joint account is incredibly £7.44 in credit, so its been in credit all month which is the first time that has happened since its been open!!!!! Woo hoo doesn't begin to describe it! It should now be much easier to keep in credit, and, after the charges for last month (spookily £7ish) are paid we will be able to enjoy Lloyds paying us for the priviledge of having our money, rather than the other way round!!

The last CC, play.com, has not come down as much as I hoped and the balance is £2,827.50, but its interest free for another couple of months. Feels fab!!

Best wishes for a happy, debt-reducing or debt-free new year!

well done on having your current account in credit, if i hadn't been for a mix up by the bank and their new computer system i may possibly have spent the whole year in credit!

my strangest pressies this year were about 5 boxes of ear buds, ok i use them, and do love OH dearly but they just made me laugh!

TOTAL: £6,437 (04/01/2013) slowly but surely it is decreasing:D
  • Happy New Year all :T

We gave blood yesterday so spent a quiet and sober evening watching Pirates of the whatever, before an early night lol.

Lemon Tree - ear buds????? I've just noticed too that you're really close to being sub £20K - good luck!

Just won £5 on BB so that's a nice start to the year, even if I can't 'get at it'!

    Cheers

Hope it will be our debt free year! Snowballing calc originally said September 2010, but I'm hoping to be debt free before the summer. I hardly dare say it! Looks pretty hard as I am no longer doing job #2... whoops I'll stop that negative thinking and get back to the surveys..... every little helps!

    Cheers
