Yes put dh some lights on the fence (easy this year as brackets already in place) - haven't done anything inside yet - basically a tree and couple of ornaments around the room - if I put the tree up too early I find I've had enough after Christmas day lol - usually do a deep clean including hiring a carpet cleaner and put the tree up around 15th-20th depending when the weekend falls.

Just ordered dd and her ohs pressie from Amazon - certainly not exciting buying a pan set - but thats what they asked for - scary stuff - literally 2 clicks and it was ordered. Very efficient in the right hands but it did make me wonder what would happen if someone mis-used it!!!

Will finish present shopping at weekend - sort the freezer out and do a food shop some time after that - preferably before 24th :D

  • Hi Milann

Sounds like your christmas is well organised. I must admit to :heartsmil internet shopping and most of ours has been done that way this year, no crowds, no carrying anything and also comparing prices and getting it at the best price, with Quidco! DS room is full of parcels and things which is quite fun, OH and I will go in there tomorrow and sort through and wrap up.

I get fed up with the Christmas tree in the house. Although its quite a big house the rooms are quite small and trees seem to take up so much room. We found a 'slender' one a couple of years ago which is better.

food shop - hmm - yes I think before the 24th rather than after!!!

    Cheers

  • There is not a lot to report on the DFW front. The joint account is still in credit, which feels great, and although it might slip into the red for a few days before I get paid from job #2 I think its just about on track to finish the month overdraftfree :j. We got paid 4p interest this month on the joint account!!!

Today is technically a day off but I am going to do five hours work (additional hours) on the report I'm in the middle of, hopefully get another 2 sections done, which will give some extra pennies in January. Also I've got another four surveys to do - tedious but profitable. I'll do those on OH laptop in front of the TV tonight I think.

I messenged DS1&2 last night on Skype for ages, which was wonderful. They are lovely lads. DS1 got engaged (age 21) to the girl he's been seeing for four years, they're now at Uni together. Far too young of course, but what can you say!!

Time to do some work. Best to start by putting the kettle on I think!!

    Cheers

sounds like it's all in order. I have to blitz our place this weekend so we can even think about the chrisy tree. I have wrapped everything, though i am waiting on one internet purchase which i sent an email about last night.
  • Hi CBM

You seem to be working really hard at the moment. I hate having deadlines just before Christmas because there are so many things going through your mind.

I hope you're having a few days off to recover.

I was looking at your totals and wondered if you would carry on with your diary once you are debt free which won't be too long now! I hope you do>

catspaw is right you've done really well CBM.
  • Awww, thanks for those lovely words. :happyhear This site is great isn't it, for encouragement in this. I don't really have anyone non-virtual to talk to about debt, credit cards, piggy points, quidco etc, and at this time of year it seems that everywhere I go people are talking about using credit to buy presents as if its the only 'normal' thing to do! I don't really understand it actually, as in a month it will be buy things in sales on credit, followed by buying holidays on credit.

I'm a bit miffed as I ordered OH's christmas present and HDN are showing it as delivered on Thursday, when it certainly wasn't. I did put a note online saying they could put it in the back garden (where it would be safe - I live between 2 police officers!!) but they didn't... I don't think I can prove that though.

    uh oh

  • I forgot to mention, I signed up to Bingo Britain yesterday, spending £5 as needed. Today I got my bonus:T and bought games through the day, and logged on just now and have won £10 :T:T:T:T
I tried to withdraw but couldn't as it needs to be £20 so the withdrawal 'bounced' back. I deposited £10, and tried to withdraw again but I now need to wait 23 hours. Does that mean that I can't play my bonus until this time tomorrow when I've been able to withdraw?

    £10 towards Play.com :D - a start!

    Cheers
