Hi
Will this be the first time you haven't had all your children together for Christmas?
We're going to stay with my brother and his family so no food shopping for me - yippee!
My floors are disgusting and I don't do much ironing. Wil have to vacuum and mop floors tomorrow = that could make me grumpy!!
I've been on a computer all day and agree it's not so appealing in the evening but once I get on this sight it's hard to log off.

Hi all
And last night I did... naff all!!! Ironing and floors are still at the same state as this time yesterday. I wrapped DD birthday pressies (her bday today but she's coming home on Wednesday) and watched some junk TV - world's strictest parents. The evening just sort of disappeared!
Milann - hope you get dressed up ok - giant pudsey bear?
Lemon Tree - can you remind me which one BB is, I thought I knew, but don't know how to withdraw £8.50.
PBH - DD was away for Christmas with a boyfriend a few [STRIKE]boyfriends[/STRIKE] years ago; but this is the first time without one of the boys.
Have a good day all

BB is bingo britain, not won anything from the daily bonus until yesterday but i think quite a few MSE'ers subscriptions have been running out so maybe more of a chance for me now
think i may tackle our floors tonight once i'm back from hair dressers. I'm trying to start the flylady thing on the OS board so may have to see what's on that list.0 -
Lem, I've just spent some time looking at BB across MSE - looks like it has been a good source of 'little bit extra' for people and something I could add to the clickies/bingo routine that I've got going! Can't be any worse than TAB which I'm fast getting disillusioned with (wish there was a spellchecker on mse!!)
Thanks for the tip

Right - time to knuckle down to a boring post and a dull few hours at the CB house! OH is out until about 5ish and I plan to:
[STRIKE]Do comps & clicks[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Check bank accounts[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Prepare post survey stuff[/STRIKE] Now have 14 books of stamps!
[STRIKE]Dust [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Hoover[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Wash floors[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Prepare training materials for tomorrow's courses[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Menu plan and shopping list[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Laundry[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Tidy DD bedroom as she's coming home for a few days[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Cook something from bits and pieces in the freezer for tea[/STRIKE] I've found some bits that will be fine.
Hope the rest of you are having a more interesting weekend! I'll keep updating this through the day - for motivational purposes!
Update to add - all boring stuff done - now looking forward to a couple of guilt-free, hassle-free hours!
Cheers all

you're welcome i'm glad to share the info
I didn't get the floor done last night and spent today at a crop making more pages for the chrissy pressy calendars. I've only got two more pages to do and it's another one finished.
OH has put up washing lines in our hallway today so i've got somewhere relatively out of the way to try and get the washing dry. Fingers crossed it will work out well. I'll have to remember to only do one wash at a time, but i've got a whole winter to practice that on.
Woke up with a headache, despite being desperate for sleep, and it's back now only i know it's now due to dehydration so am drinking lots of water to clear it.0 -
LemonTree - I'm rather jealous that you've been to a crop and I've been cleaning floors!!! I used to go to one regularly then when I was ill a while back and unable to get out - I lost touch - when I turned up one evening the place was in darkness, not sure whether they moved or closed. I really need to find somewhere to go nearby as I much prefer to scrap with other people IYKWIM - and I've got loads I want to do.
CBM - hope you enjoy your well deserved free time - even if it is only a couple of hours - thats what I'm doing now - enjoying my time on the 'puter with popcorn, choccy and wine close to hand - and not thinking 'I really must... or I need to...'

i'm sure i see places listed in your area on uk scrappers, not that i go on there other than to subscribe to another crop i've gone to which i can't go to anymore. To save money my sis and i have decided that the day OH does a 12 hr shift on a weekend (at least once a month) she'll come here for some scrapbooking. so yesterday i bought the fab class kit so we can do it at home together. I'm just fed up at the mo with doing calendars and not doing nice LO's0

Cb dons detective kit...
So a 'crop' must be a place where people go and do crafting together? And you're making a calendar, which will look like a scrapbook - space for the recipient to record stuff maybe?
Sounds great. I've only once crafted with others, and that was when I took some card-making stuff to a few non-crafty friends for a girls night in - but it turned out they really were non-crafty!!
I got another cross-stitch card done on Saturday when I had my 'me time'. OH arrived home and I was mellow on the sofa with cross-stitch and cat - I think he thought I'd been there all day (why don't they notice all the other stuff that has happened?)

In praise of Garmin's internet community
My satnav stopped working last week, a Garmin StreetPilot. It was a christmas present in 2007, a refurb model then, and its been replaced twice as there have been problems with it and most recently it was upgraded. I didn't think I had a leg to stand on with contacting Garmin.
Other people had found a method that worked, which would not harm it and would not lose the 'favourites':
leave for at least a day.
connect to pc until the screen flashes on, and then disconnect
plug into the mains and charge
I did this and... it works... hooray!!! There is no way I would justify a new one, and I am not good at remembering 'turn left, then second right' etc. And have no sense of direction lol!
I'm really pleased I didn't try resetting as some of the places saved in it I visit for my vol work, but don't go to very often and they are a nightmare to find!
A very happy
