can you decide on our dishwasher issue for us - ours went bang on saturday and i think we're gonna have to wait until after christmas to make a decision on replacing it. Guess it depends on how our leccy consumption goes in the next month or so cos that will dictate if we have to up the DD.0
-
Our dishwasher went wrong months ago, and we haven't replaced yet. Mind you it is just OH and me most of the time at the mo, and we just do the dishes together whilst chatting so it isn't really a problem. I am just waiting for a sensibly priced one to come along and then probably will buy one this month - got the youngsters coming home for christmas and lots of greasy meals planned! The dishwasher that we have now was £5 from ebay in summer 2007 when our previous one went wrong. I said if it did until christmas 07 we would have got our money's worth, and it did until spring/summer 09!
Cheers

just re read one of my previous posts and should correct to say my friends are due next year so i do have time to crochet shawls so will have to seach out Millann for some destructions on what to do.0
-
you often see a bbq base sauce for pizza's or i've even had one with a white sauce base which was lovely0
-
I had pizza at a friend's once which was a green sauce & topping, spinach based, which is what I was hoping to find but couldn't. I did a tomatoey one but put too much on and the pizzas were 'doughy' yuck.
Will try again and try and get it right! Hopefully we won't be up all night with indigestion  .
Night night

Hi all
I've just had a very long day working from home, and the (only) advantage is that I don't need to travel anywhere at the end of the day.
I was also pleased to be here when the M&S delivery came a couple of days early - I ordered 'After Dinner Delights' for £23ish a couple of days ago - and - 3 pkts of posh gingery biscuits for my Gran (her favourite), bottle of port for OH, and some other bits to put by for Christmas, so am delighted with it.
Not a lot else to report on the MS front. Butlins Bingo is at £10.05 so I'll withdraw tomorrow. No winnings on any of the comps that I've been doing each day (but I live in hope). I managed to finish all the jobs on Tuesday's list so the house looks reasonably clean(ish) and tidy for once.
Work is horrible though. I'm in the middle of a major project and the report was meant to be finished by mid Jan with a draft gone through with a senior manager later this month. That has now changed though, Chief Exec is to have report on 17th - and I only work part time... I suppose its good that there will be at least one additional day's work which I'll get paid for - its just a rubbish time of year for this to happen and I've got a training course for job #2 on the 16th which isn't finished......:mad::eek:
(deep breath....)
By Monday I want to:
- do the online ordering for Christmas presents and make a list of things to get in town
- make some Christmas cards
- get a new duvet for DD room - there are some reasonable ones in Argos
- final decision on dishwasher and order it
Doesn't sound a lot does it. I am delivering training on Sat morning and Sun afternoon though, so that's much of the weekend gone, and I'm feeling rather over-worked so need to keep my targets managable.
Cheers all

Not been around for a few days - actually longer than I'd thought. Been fairly tired with a few early nights thrown in for good measure. But just don't know where the time has gone to. I can't even say I have been doing all my Christmas shopping because I've still got a fair bit to do - and I started off so well in January - false sense of security LOL.
I should have gone to the Christmas fair today but woke up this morning feeling really tired again - my tummy is playing up at the moment so I phoned in saying I wasn't going. I felt really bad letting them down but it has taken me a long time to realise the more I do at work - the more they expect. I am finally learning to put myself first - why do I feel so guilty though LOL LOL LOL
Spent the day doing bits of tidying then having a rest then a bit more. I actually got a fair bit done.
Well done on that end of month balance - I'm impressed - my start of month balance isn't often that LOL
The shawls I have done recently have just been a basic big square finished off with a picot edge. Simple but effective. I've used approx 2 packs of wool @ £2 each (think there's 4 balls to a pack)from the shops that were poundstretcher are they called instore now. I have done fancier ones in the past if it has been for someone really special - but I can knock these simple ones up without thinking as I watch the tv.
Planning on decorating the garden tomorrow if it isn't raining. DH has a garden train set and we add a few Christmas lights to it each year - nothing too grand but it is good fun for the kids (big and little alike). We buy something new each year not necessarily anything big but it is something we will build on each year - got a bargain robin for £3.50 last year - might go and see what B&Q have tomorrow.

Hi all
It all feels a bit calmer here than last time I came to my diary. Much of the christmas shopping is done (ie ordered), and a dishwasher is on order and being delivered on Wednesday, so OH is pleased!
My manager went a bit pale at 'rough and ready' nature of the first draft of the report on Friday, so he is suggesting that it does not go to the chief exec next week - phew! On the other hand it is my one and only day off this week, and I have already spent an hour sorting out stuff for quite an important meeting tomorrow which had not been done properly - and the responsible person is off at a conference in London today  . This afternoon I need to sort out the training course I'm delivering next week to job #2 - but first - Christmas cardsand check the accounts
to make sure that Christmas is in budget.
OH did his bit to help by going and getting a book for one of the relatives, £20 on the High Street. I muttered something about Bookbrain and the same book was there for £12 (+quidco) so I'm not encouraging him to help any more :rotfl:which was probably his plan!
Hope everyone has a good day

Hi Milann
Sorry to hear your tummy was playing up and you missed your school fair. Your day's pottering sounds relaxing and productive - a rare combination!
Hope things have improved and you're feeling better now - did you get your garden done? I like to add decorations at Christmas too - but only to the tree; last year we didn't even have dangly things on the ceilings! And we had nothing outside at all - aren't we boring!!!
Cheers
