you're not lying, i can't wait to be debt free, i'll sleep so much easier. My debt must be on my mind every hour of every day and impacts in so many ways. Ways that the non MSE just don't understand. Was told today that everyone's money is allocated, so we'll all just have to find x amount and flex something else.... question is the only thing in my budgeti can flexi is petrol (ie don't go to work) or food, and we're on £150 for 2 and 2 cats as it is. Not much flexibility really, so it wasn't just me being awkward. I have to admit i got so close to coming home i'm just so cheesed off there at the moment.0

It's no fun being cheesed off at work. The debt nags all the time and I think it's the removal of 'choice' and feeling of 'having' to work to make ends meet rather than 'choosing' to work for a better life style that gets me.
On the whole I try and enjoy my work and not let the politics of it all get to me - but I'm finding that harder and harder to do lately. That said I am very grateful to be able to go to work and not be on the sick or out of work.

OH car wouldn't start this morning :-( I've suggested we get by with my car for the next week and then book it in end of next week so it comes out of Decembers money, but he's a bit dubious (my car is a bit of a heap, his is lovely). He's gone off to work in mine, as he's got meetings and I can cycle to work. Cars  are just rubbish! Hopefully its something simple, but it gives me a whole new thing to worry about for a week.
Lemon Tree, is that £150 a month?! Knocks socks of us if so, during term time we are 2 + 2 cats, and are at about £180 on a good month.
Milann, you're in a school aren't you? I've got a couple of friends who are TAs and one who is a teacher, it always seems to be tough when they have to think more about the politics than the children.
Off to find waterproof trousers and coat to cycle into job #2, last time.
Cheers

yes it's for a month, doesn't always work out that way but that's the budget, hence why there's not so much leeway.
milann, i like working where i am, but like you the politics gets to me, and the hiding your head in the sand attitude. I feel like they sometimes live in a different reality other than the real world and i'm made to feel like i'm all moany and always putting a damper on things when i dont' believe in what's being said.0 -
Lemon tree - you could be me - I feel because I've been there 7 years now the newer staff think I'm a right killjoy - but honestly I'm not!!
SH it's a nursery I'm in - not attached to a school but we get school holidays.

strange thing is that i've been there the least time, but i'm one of only a few who's ever worked in the real world so i know what can and does actually happen when you're up against a wall.0

Good morning
Just two rather manic days of work and then the weekend!
Not a lot going on here on the DFW front, in fact the opposite. After OH car not starting and needing to go in to the garage, my sat nav stopped working last night, and the cassette adapter for my ipod stopped working properly - it was only stereo when I went over bumps  .
I need to go grocery shopping tonight or tomorrow so will have to decide if I'm going to make a christmas cake, and if so, how big as last year's didn't all get eaten. DS2 says he is going to stay up in uni for christmas with some friends.
Cheers

Yawn, end of the day. OH has taken my car so I can't go grocery shopping. I have a great choice for the evening - wash kitchen floor, or do the ironing... hmmm! Or there is sit and potter at the computer, which never seems such a good idea after spending the day working on one.
I think I'm suffering from middle of the month syndrome, too far from last and next paydays to be able to make concrete plans. I probably should be less of an obsessional DFW and go with the flow.
I worked from home today as I'm in the middle from a mega-report and was talking to a colleague on the phone. I said I'm better off working at home as the huge bits of work make me grumpy, and she said she didn't believe I was the grumpy type!!! Little does she know!!!
Have a good evening, those of you who are not washing floors or ironing.

Hope you now have a glistening clean floor and no ironing pile - I have neither but they're on my to do list for weekend - why do we live such exciting lives. Also have to clear worktops in kitchen - they have become a dumping ground for all sorts of carp.
Just remembered I should be getting dressed up at work for children in need tomorrow - think I may have to raid dressing up box in morning at work as don't have anything at home. One day I'll get organised I've known about this a couple of weeks now.

washing the floor? ironing? you're certainly not talking about me.
I'm also in the middle of the month doldrums, just won on BB £10 but didn't realise until i'd spent £1.50 so i've withdrawn the £8.50. Helps float this months accounts but they're still in deficit and i still have to go tomorrow to get my hair done (our of my chrissy pressy money from MIL)0
