Pigpen - I might be totally wrong as I am suffering with "pregnancy brain" at the moment, but are you looking for baby bits for ds and gf's baby? We have just started sorting through all our baby stuff (and trust me there is lots of it!) I have also got two, of a lot of things, where we had bought something and then got given it as a gift too. We are going through it all ready for the arrival of our new baby later in the year. If you or any of the flyladies could make use of it, I would be really happy to pass it on, so someone else gets some use out of it. I don't want anything for any of the bits. There are cot beds, a travel system, a buggy, baby monitors, toys, toys and more toys, clothes (we have got both girl's and boy's clothes which I will keep hold of, just until we find out the sex of the baby. As soon as we know I would be happy to pass on the clothes which we won't use.), a baby gym, a baby sling etc etc. Just let me know if anybody could use some of it. Everything is in good condition because I packed everything really carefully, and labelled all the boxes and bags (at the time dh teased me about labelling everything, but it is making this mega sort out a lot easier :p).

Going to catch up with everything while I have my lunch xx

Thanks for all your support & advice guys. I know I was wrong to go & collect the duvet unexpectedly, but I hope that once my friend has had a bit of time to think about it, maybe she will will realise that I've really tried to be a good friend. There's got to be a cetain amount of give & take in a friendship

emily I hope you feel a bit better just getting that off your chest, you must have been bottling it all up & we are here to listen.

You sound tired & understandably stressed, you have been through an emotional time....not to mention feeling poorly...don't be too hard on yourself.

I know you have dedicated a lot of your time & strength to DH & maybe he felt a little 'left out' I really hope you can sort it out.........look after yourself (((hugs))) xx

I have hung the washing out today

Emily - so sorry to hear that what you'd hoped would be an exciting and happy time has been so difficult.

Firstly, everything the others have said is true - you are not a bad friend, or a bad wife. From what we see here you are incredibly selfless and considerate. You seem to spend most of your time doing things for other people rather than yourself.

Obviously you've got to work through everything yourself, but remember, we are here to listen, and not to criticise.

My personal view is that you somehow need to work out how to make some time for yourself. Both your DH and your friend need to understand that this is important. Can you try to find the odd hour to go to the library, sit in a church, have a manicure or something similar - with no phone, no people you know, just space to think (or not think - sometimes clearing your head of everything that is going on helps get it in perspective when you go back to it).

Tell you friend that you are still unwell, so won't come round until you are better, but text or call every day. Ask after her and the baby, but make it a quick call - if necessary cut it off by saying that there is someone at the door. Don't give her a chance to start using you as a target for emotional state (remember, she's hormonal, and her situation means the results will be even more spectacular than normal!)

With your DH, you are the person who knows him best, but it sounds like you need to talk to him. Can you tell him that you've been tired and stressed, and that with your period its all added up to a bad time? You could reassure him that you're there for him and that you know that you've had trouble balancing everyone's demands. If you explain that you've been trying to keep everyone happy (which, lets face it, is an impossible task), and that you need to get the balance back hopefully he'll understand. He must be pretty stressed too, what with the different hospital etc. Maybe you should try to make some time for the two of you, as well as finding some 'me-time'.

I'm not saying that this is necessary the right approach - I've never been in your situation. I just thought I'd put some ideas down for you to think about.

Remember, if you need us, we're here for you - you know what flyladies are like for getting involved in each others' lives! And because we don't know who you are IYSWIM... in that we wouldn't recognise you if we met you in the street ... we don't have the preconceptions and expectations of you that people closer to you may have. I guess talking to us is a bit like therapy, only cheaper!

(((hugs))) and positive vibes coming your way
