Evening everyone
Princess Jane - I have a nice lump hammer you could borrow to help with digging up the patio... :rotfl:
Toots - yes, I did used to enjoy working there very much. It's the last few months that haven't been so nice. Change of management etc. What was once a friendly, open relaxed office changed to one of secrecy, not knowing what you were doing from one minute to the next etc. Then the messing about with different sites etc. Where as before, it would have been discussed amongst the team, it isn't any more. It's 'you're going there and doing that' at a minute's notice and yes, as long as I can see properly, I'll finish Friday - I have four days consultancy left.
Rach - update on the eyes below. I'm off to Ventnor on the IOW with NN and the dog. We've taken a three bedroom dwelling grandly called a 'villa' but which is, in reality, a sort of park home. One up from a caravan but not as grand as a wooden lodge. It's right by the beach and we'll have sea views. It'll be interesting to see how we cope. When we've been on hol before together, we've taken cottages which tend to have much more room! Just need lots of vibes for superb weather week commencing 16th May. Have a lovely time in Switzerland and don't eat too much of their chocolate! Hope you hear about the job v. quickly
DaydreamB - hugs for you and your baby's op tomorrow. I know what I was like when my Beffy Boo went in to have a lump removed (so do the rest of the fly lady gang - I was a right wobbly, winging so and so and I actually took the day off. but I didn't half get some housework done whilst she was at the vet!)
Sexy - Islie of Widget is how you spell it :rotfl:
Toots - I'll have a star for today please
My eyes are dreadful this evening. Both of them are now itching and weepy and gunky (but 'clear' gunk, not green gunk!). I'm wondering if it's a sort of hayfever. The left eye started to play up Saturday evening after I'd been out in the garden photographing a plant for my OU course. It had just about settled down this morning. This afternoon, I went out and took more photos of said plant because of comments on the focus (it's OK, we're supposed to positively critique each others work!).
I took loads because I wanted to get a better focus and I was using a manual focus macro lens which, being myopic, is a tad challenging!. This evening both eyes are kicking up big time. Itchy, weepy, the lot. I'm not sneezing though. I look like I've been crying all day but I haven't! One of the blokes at work has some artificial tears eye drop thingies he's using up after laser eye surgery so I may see if I can borrow a couple of vials from him.
Anyway, I'll quit rambling on and go sort out some dinner. HM fish and Tesco's finest chips I think...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

You can buy artificial tears over the counter in the pharmacy. If you want cheap and cheerful, just ask for hypromellose eye drops. If you want something to make your eyes feel more comfortable, use viscotears, which are more expensive by so much nicer! There are lots of other brands about - some of them leave white deposits on your eye lashes (I think Tears Natrel was one that did that).
Whatever you do... don't share  even if they dropper doesn't touch your eye (which it shouldn't), its not a nice thing to do. And they should be thrown away a month after opening (these are the ONLY things for which I do actually follow this instruction!0 -

Thanks Greenbee - and rest assured, I wouldn't even CONTEMPLATE sharing eye drops. I'm even holding myself back from a DIY eye bath with boiled (and cooled!) water. Our eyesight is v. v. precious (as Mudders and her Dad know, and Emily has direct experience of !) I would not want to compromise it in anywayI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

I have some unopened single dose eyebath here... but I guess if I posted it to you it would be a bit late. Get yourself to the chemist first thing tomorrow (otherwise you might not be able to see to get to work). It would be worth having some artificial tears if you're going to give yourself an eyebath, as this can take the natural lubrication off the eyeball. I had my eye washed out in hospital a few years ago (a tip for you all... if you're using both hypromellose eye drops and hydrocortisone ear drops, don't get them confused
it is VERY VERY painful), and it was dry and sore until I could get drops in (they confiscated the ear drops to be on the safe side).

Hello everyone!
I posted earlier, but lost connection just as I hit post! Anyway, I am here! DH has hogged the laptop all morning and we were out at Mum’s this afternoon, which was lovely as Grandad and Auntie were there, and my Dad and sister of course. Just got back and wrestled the lappy off DH as he thought he would have it all evening!
Couldn’t get on here to check the lists so I gave the kitchen a good clean this morning, which will save time on kitchen day! :j
Sorry if any of this is out of date, it’s from the old thread as I haven't even started on this one yet!
Lizzyshep, I was exactly the same before I came on here (and sometimes fall back into old ways!) Washing up was left for days, clothes just left on the floor, mess everywhere, but it is possible to change, and joining here really motivated me to change and things are much better now.
Summermoon, so sorry to hear about your friend. I’m thinking of you and her family
Valli, I love turning compost heaps, that always used to be my job at home. My mum has 6! So I used to have great fun!
Flower, I love your new avatar! It’s great!
Greenbee, well done on your car boot, I would love to do one, never done one. I’ve got loads of clothes to sell, do people sell them at car boots?
FFP, that’s great that you’ve heard from SS
Embb, I thought your avatar was Richard Armitage too! Shows how alike they are, I was just thinking the other day how alike he and Hugh Jackman are!
Justamum, I like your avatar too, is it Harrison Ford? He is loooooovely!
Thanks you Pigpen and Toots for all your hard work with the lists and stars and looking after us so well. I could hear the collective thud, as across the land hundreds of flyladies turned their mattresses!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."
